Australia’s BIG fun ship the Carnival Splendor is unusually quiet as she floats off the NSW.

But Chloe Loddo, Cruise Director of Carnival Splendor and her team are all keeping busy with preparations and new ideas to debut when cruise returns.

Carnival’s loyal fans have been lapping up Ms Loddo’s updates of life on board on her Facebook page. It is the next best thing as cruisers are kept from sailing their favourite ships and itineraries for now.

Everyone on board is keeping every deck sparkling clean along with inventory taking. Even the towel animals get to come out and enjoy the fresh air!

The entertainment team continues to improve their shows with rehearsals for shows like Dr Seuss, the Welcome Aboard show and more. Ms Loddo have also made a call out to Aussie cruisers on her page for presentation and lecture ideas.

And cruisers are keen to share their thoughts on what they have enjoyed so far along with new ideas.

“We enjoyed the seminar on using the camera on your phone! Plus anything that doesn’t come with a hard sell afterwards. It would be great to know the crews favourite places to visit and what can be found there etc.,” writes Julie Steedman on Facebook.

“Would love a Q&A with the production team and/or Captain,” says Lyn Edwards. But Ms Loddo responds: “We offer it on 7 day cruises or longer its called ‘coffee with the cast’ and the captain makes an appearance at my Q&A.”

A fan of the new Indian restaurant on board, the Masala Tiger also had a special request.

A cooking demo/class from the Masala Tiger team – best food ever!” writes Harvey Albert on Facebook.

And of course the crew have also been taking time off together and bonding over this period. The onboard band Music Manila have been playing impromptu sets and the crew have been challenging each other to card games.

And for Ms Loddo, she is also practicing her stretches so she can perform a front split in the Lip Sync Battle!

“Carnival are really looking after us during this difficult time and will continue to do so until we are back in operation. The team on the Splendor misses you all so much!” writes Ms Loddo.
