Seabourn, the luxury cruise line, is expected to send one of its new expedition ships, Seabourn Venture, to cruise the Kimberley in 2024, raising the competition of other premium cruise operators in the popular Australian destination.
The ocean-going line moved into the expedition sector with its first purpose-built expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, launching at the end of July. This will be followed by the sister expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit expected to debut in 2024.
Accommodating only 260 guests in all 132-balcony suites, Seabourn Venture will head to the Kimberley in two years time. She is purpose-built to PC6 Polar Class standards and will have all the expedition toys such as two submarines, 24 Zodiacs, kayaks and a 26-strong expert team of expedition leaders.

The deployment of Seabourn Venture to cruise the Kimberley is expected to attract many Australian and international cruisers and pose strong competition to other operators including the French luxury line, Ponant, which has been cruising the Kimberley for sometime.
Seabourn Venture took her first guests for a 12-day Northern Isles expedition departing Tromso on 27 July to the Arctic. She will also offer a series of 12 to 15-day voyages exploring the Arctic, Greenland and Iceland and the Canadian Arctic Archipelago in Nunavut.
The Colonnade on Seabourn Venture
โExploration has always been part of our brand legacy, but the launch of Seabourn Venture turns the page on a new chapter for us, offering our guests opportunities to explore remote destinations in every corner of the globe and truly be a part of the natural wonders, wildlife, history, and culture theyโll find there,โ said Josh Leibowitz, President of Seabourn.
Passengers onboard Seabourn Venture can also enjoy the expedition lounge, a discovery centre for history and culture lectures, a bow lounge to watch marine life and a constellation lounge, the highest indoor viewing point with 270-degree views.
Seabourn Pursuit, currently under construction will debut in 2024. Pursuit is also purpose-built to PC6 Polar Class standards and have two submarines, 24 Zodiacs, kayaks and a 26-strong expert team of expedition leaders.
