Celebrity River Cruises has unveiled a new collection of multi-day before and after stays, giving guests the opportunity to extend their European river cruises with additional land experiences in Prague, Budapest, Amsterdam and Lausanne.
Designed as an elevated take on traditional pre-and post-cruise packages, the curated two and three night stays aim to deepen guests’ connection with each destination through personalised touring, premium accommodation and locally led experiences. Each package includes daily breakfast, ship transfers and guided experiences tailored to guests’ interests.
The new stays are positioned as a seamless extension of the Celebrity River Cruises onboard experience, combining luxury hospitality with culturally focused exploration both before and after a sailing.
Celebrity River Cruises said the new before and after stays were designed to offer a more meaningful and personalised style of travel, allowing guests to experience Europe’s river cities beyond the standard sightseeing circuit. The new land programs form part of Celebrity River Cruises’ broader European expansion, with the line scheduled to operate 33 sailings in 2027 and 160 sailings in 2028 across the Rhine and Danube rivers, visiting more than 50 destinations.
“Our Before and After Stays are more than an extension of a Celebrity River Cruises holiday, these stays are designed to deepen connection — to the cities, to the people who bring them to life, and to each other,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises.
“Every element of a Celebrity River Cruises sailing is designed to bring guests closer to Europe’s culture, history and people, onboard and ashore.”

What’s included
At the centre of the program is the line’s new Guided Discovery Collection, featuring small-group tours led by local experts and creatives. The experiences focus on uncovering the cities’ lesser-known stories through art, history, food and culture.
In Amsterdam, guests can explore the city’s thriving street art scene alongside a contemporary artist, gaining insight into how public creativity and evolving murals have become part of the city’s identity. The experience concludes with guests contributing to a collaborative artwork themselves.
Meanwhile in Prague, travellers can delve into the city’s mysterious past by tracing the paths of alchemists and scholars through Gothic laneways, hidden symbols and medieval architecture. Other experiences explore underground bunkers and Cold War shelters, while culinary-focused itineraries highlight Czech beer heritage, historic taverns and traditional local storytelling.
The 2027 Prague and Budapest programs are now open for booking, while Amsterdam and Lausanne will join the collection in 2028.

Each stay includes daily Discovery Collection tours led by local experts and creatives, offering guests the chance to explore destinations through themes such as history, food, art and culture. Guests can select from at least three themed tour options each day, allowing for a more personalised experience.
Celebrity said the program has been designed to remove the complexity often associated with independent land arrangements, with all logistics coordinated in advance. Each Before and After Stay includes premium or ultra-premium accommodation, daily breakfast, transfers to and from the ship, and a balance of guided experiences and free time.
Celebrity Cruises also said it continues to work with local organisations, artisans and cultural groups throughout Europe to support regional economies and preserve traditional crafts, music and storytelling within the destinations featured on its itineraries.
