  • Forward booking cruise schedules show that Carnival Adventure will sail a series of cruises out of Melbourne in February 2028.
  • This follows on from a visit in March and April 2027, following the dry dock of Carnival Adventure.
  • This will inspire hope that the Carnival brand’s in Australia continue running cruises out of more region in Australia, not just Sydney and Brisbane.

Melbourne’s forward booking schedules show that Carnival Adventure will visit in 2028, meaning that its 2027 stop isn’t just a one off.

The schedule shows that the ship will eight turnaround cruises out of Melbourne, which marks great news for those living in Melbourne that don’t want to get on a plane just to sail with Carnival.

However, there is a catch. They will all be shorter sailings. The longest sailings are just four-nights long, meaning that all these sailings will take place over the course of about a month, with the first cruise leaving on January 31 and the last one leaving on February 2025.

This could potentially offer just enough time for a quick visit to Tasmania, but it’s more likely the itineraries will sail without ports, or maybe visit another port in Victoria, although nothing else is in the schedule at this point.

This also comes off the back of the news that Princess Cruises, who are owned by Carnival Corporation, will be homeporting some cruises out of Fremantle, also in 2028.

Given that the last few years have shown a trend of both Carnival and Royal Caribbean focusing its operations out of Sydney and Brisbane, this will come as a huge relief to many cruisers that Carnival appears to be tending back towards offering sailings out of more regions of Australia.

Royal Caribbean is unlikely to reintroduce regional sailings, as they’ve already announced their intention to focus the majority of their itineraries around their new private destination at Lelepa, meaning that cruisers will be especially hoping that the Carnival brands in Australia, namely Carnival and Princess Cruises, bring cruising back to the regions.

While visits to Melbourne and Fremantle are an excellent start, cruisers in other cities such as Adelaide and Auckland will also be keenly hoping for new sailings to come out of their cities.

Carnival Cruises has been contacted for comment.

  1. And this is after Carnival cancelled a number of Carnival Adventure cruises from mid May 2027 to who knows when. I just don’t trust Carnival
