- Disney Adventure has cancelled its first three months of sailings.
- The ship will now sail its maiden voyage on March 10, 2026, and booked guests may be moved and get 50% off fares.
- This will affect up to 160,000 cruisers, and the line has said there will be no compensation for flights or hotels already booked.
Disney Adventure, the exciting new Disney ship that is set to sail out of Singapore, has delayed its maiden voyage to March 10, 2026.
Disney Wonder will still be sailing in Australia, but it is believed some Australians were booking Adventure.
The ship was originally meant to begin sailing on December 15, 2025, meaning that Disney Cruise Line has had to cancel the first 24 sailings of the ship. Based off the maximum capacity of 6700 passengers, these cancellations will affect up to 160,000 holidaymakers, likely including thousands of Australians and other cruisers from all around the world.
The cruise line cited shipbuilding delays as the reason for having to push back the ships maiden voyage.
All affected guests will receive a full refund, as well as a 50% discount on a future Disney cruise. Guests who were booked on the maiden voyage will be automatically booked on the new maiden voyage and receive 50% off their cruise fare.
However, Disney will not provide compensation for airfares, hotel bookings or other travel-related expenses that guests may have now incurred as a result of the changes.
Disney Signature Experiences President Joe Schott said: “As we work on the final touches to bring the Disney Adventure to our guests, weโve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process.
“To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, weโve made the decision to adjust our timeline. We know this may be disappointing to our guests, and weโre working directly with them to offer flexible rebooking options and uphold the trust they place in us.”
Disney Adventure will be by far Disney’s largest ship once it enters service, and will be the closest Disney ship to Australians, after news broke that Disney will no longer be sailing in Australian waters.
What a bummer! Disappointed to hear the Disney Adventures maiden voyage is delayed. While the 50% refund and future discount is nice, no compensation for flights or hotels is really not enough for the disruption, especially for those planning around it. Hoping the ships experience makes up for the wait!
I wonder what will happen to the hired crew at Disney adventure. People have left their jobs with the hope of joining the ship.
