The cruise line, known for offering some of the best entertainment in the industry has announced the launch of four brand-new and original NCL productions. They will debut throughout 2025, and promise to appeal to all ages while upholding NCL’s legacy of phenomenal performances.

The new productions were all created by NCL’s Award-winning In-House Entertainment Team, in collaboration with a number of renowned Creative Partners. They will premiere across 9 of the brand’s ships, bringing a refresh to current entertainment options. The lucky ships include Norwegian Breakaway, Encore, Epic, Escape, Gem, Getaway, Jewel, Joy and Prima.

NCL have revealed that their new entertainment strategy is focused on appealing to a multi-generational and accessible audience. Informed by consumer insights and direct feedback, they will also prioritise well-known and timeless music, exciting visual experiences and engaging storylines.

The four new productions are as follows:

Red, White & British

Ben Angell, NCL APAC’s Vice President and Managing Director, spoke with great enthusiasm for Red, White & British’s premiere performance:

“I’m particularly excited about the new ‘Red, White & British’ production debuting this year. This high energy show celebrates iconic British musical performers and artists who have taken the airwaves by storm in collaboration with our long time Aussie partner “Burn the Floor”.

Burn the Floor is an Australian-born collective of world-famous ballroom champions, known for their electrifying performances and dynamic visuals. Elevating NCL’s entertainment offerings since 2010, they’ve helped to create this high-energy show which celebrates legendary British musical performers and artists.

Alongside Burn the Floor, the all-star team behind the show include genius Set Designer James Kronzer and accomplished Visionary Director Jenn Rapp. There will be a ‘glam rock’ section of the show, paying tribute to the iconic David Bowie and Queen, with stunning costumes and live vocals expected to wow the crowds.

The show will debut on Norwegian Breakaway on the 14 March to kick off Europe summer season, and will then premiere on Norwegian Epic on the 14 May and Norwegian Prima on the 24 August.

Bring back the 90s

Created by critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning director Scott Weinstein, this show will take its audience through iconic moments of the 90s, featuring songs from Salt-N-Pepa, Destiny’s Child and Alanis Morissette.

Packed into 50 minutes, the show will include killer vocals, dynamic dance moves and plenty of references to iconic 90s fashion and pop culture. The production features a collaboration with acclaimed DJ duo The Hood Internet, who have specially created electric mashups to bring the decade’s music to life in new and surprising ways.

The choreographers of this show, James Alonso White and Nycole Altchiler, have impressive resumes, with Altchiler recently working on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short N’ Sweet” tour and White known for his highly-regarded work with “Sesame Street” and the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade”.

“Bring back the 90s” will debut aboard Norwegian Joy during her 7 July, 2025 Alaska sailing from Seattle.

Icons: The Bands

“Icons: The Bands” has been developed by brilliant director and choreographer Stacy Walker, who has worked with the likes of global pop-star Lady Gaga and worldwide phenomenon Michael Jackson. As its title suggests, this immersive concert experience focuses on iconic bands that have shaped generations.

The production will feature the nine-person cast of “Choir of Man”, a show already established as a guest-favourite, due to its incorporation of classic rock songs and opportunity for a sing-a-long. “Icons: The Bands” is predicted to follow this success, as it recreates popular anthems from bands such as Journey, The Police, U2 and Duran Duran.

The show will premiere aboard Norwegian Encore on her 30 March Panama Canal sailing and then on Norwegian Escape’s Caribbean sailing from Miami on the 25 May.

Ignite the Night

Choreographed by “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancer and “High School Musical” cast member Britt Stewart, this show will bring an evening of energy, anticipation and incredible dance moves.

“Ignite the Night” will combine the visual allure of iconic award shows and red carpet events, promising an evening revolved around dancing, design and elegant style. The vibrant show is projected to be a big hit, and will ignite cruisers’ passion for the dance-floor.

The show will debut aboard Norwegian Jewel on her 2 March 2025 Caribbean cruise from Florida, and then later on Norwegian Gem’s Canada and New England sailings from Quebec City on 5 September.

NCL’s “flash mobs”

Alongside NCL’s new productions, the cruise line is surprising guests with random entertainment pop-ups across its fleet, in attempts to make its theatre offerings more accessible. There will be flash mob performances poolside, in dining rooms, atriums and more, guaranteeing spontaneous moments of fun and more immersive experiences. These interactive pop-ups will occur daily, keeping guests on their toes as a full-blown performance suddenly materialises in front of their very eyes.

Ben Angell said “Along with other new productions ‘Bring Back the 90s’, ‘ICONS: The Bands’, and ‘Ignite the Night’, NCL continues to deliver on our commitment to delivering unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experiences that elevate every aspect of our guests’ journey.”
