Celebrity Cruises heads to Melbourne for 2019/20 season

Premium cruise line, Celebrity Cruises, has announced its 2019 deployment, which will be the line’s biggest season in Australia to date.

With more cruises and more overnights on offer than ever before, the line also announced it would be spending some time in Melbourne.

For Celebrity fans, and those who want to try out the Celebrity Solstice, the 2019/20 summer season will be on sale from Friday December 15, 2017.

It will be the eighth season for the Celebrity Solstice in Australia and the line has more than 20 local cruises booked over more than seven months. It will be longest season she has ever spent in Australia. This includes her first ever turnaround from Melbourne and she’ll be calling at Eden as well overnight calls in Sydney, Hobart, Cairns and Tauranga.

Itineraries range from four to 17 nights, sailing to and from Honolulu, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. Solstice will call to 35 destinations in 11 countries – including ports in Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Hawaii, New Caledonia, Fiji, Loyalty Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa and American Samoa.

In addition, Celebrity will offer three dedicated Queensland itineraries, including one open jaw between Sydney and Auckland, plus a South Pacific itinerary which will visit Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and American Samoa, and a brand new four-night sampler cruise from Sydney with a call in Melbourne.

“At Celebrity Cruises, we believe that travelling to new destinations enriches our understanding of the world, so our 2019/20 Australia season features fresh itineraries and more choice than ever before for our guests to experience the world around us first hand,” said Adam Armstrong, the cruise line’s managing director in Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re very proud to introduce our first turnaround in Melbourne. The state of Victoria is cementing its status as a cruise hub, and we’re thrilled to offer Melburnians the chance to sail with us from their doorstep.

“Plus, overnight calls in Sydney, Hobart, Cairns and Tauranga will offer guests even more opportunity to explore the natural beauty, culture and culinary delights of these vibrant destinations,”
