Fancy spending 59 days onboard a luxury train as it travels around the world?
The epic on-rail adventure was introduced by Railbookers in 2024, citing a surge in demand for well-heeled guests looking for a new way of exploring the world with an equal measure of old-world glamour and modern luxury.
And it’s looking like the company will continue playing in the category, with another 59-day itinerary set for a departure date of September 3, 2025.
The scope is massive. Railbookers’ ‘Around the World by Luxury Train’ journey will visit four continents, 12 countries and over 20 iconic cities from Vancouver to Singapore.
Guests looking to purchase the itinerary will get to ride on the world’s foremost luxury trains including Canada’s Rocky Mountaineer, Scotland’s Belmond Royal Scotsman, Italy’s La Dolce Vita Orient Express, the lauded Venice Simplon-Orient Express, South Africa’s Rovos Rail, India’s Maharajas’ Express and Southeast Asia’s Eastern & Oriental Express.
Railbookers has reportedly already received “hundreds of inquiries” about the globe-trotting journey, which has been carefully tailored to maximise time on each of these trains and at each of these stops, with scope for cultural experiences, world-class cuisine and curated activities at each stop.
Passengers forking out for the costly adventure will start in Vancouver before continuing on to Europe with stops in Scotland, Rome and Paris. Central Europe comes next with Turkey being the major stop before passengers take a flight on over to India to continue their journey. The itinerary reaches its tail-end in South Africa before finally wrapping up in Singapore.
So what are the inclusions?
While each train will have dramatically different cabins, they are all threaded by an unparalleled sense of immersive luxury. The Railbookers package not only includes luxury cabins on each train but also stays in five-star hotels in each stop, with each property hand-picked to match the itinerary.
Travellers will be taken on numerous excursions at each stop, with exclusive experiences and private tours, taking guests from the ancient landmarks of Rome to the food and wine meccas of South Africa.
