Melia Hotels International will makes its first foray in Lisbon, following successful venture in London, Milan, Barcelona, Dubai and more.

With 213 rooms, the hotel will be crafted for the modern traveller, with special emphasis on innovation across dining and wellness. The a la carte restaurant will also have a rotating international menu, as well as being joined by a mainstay of the brand, Radio Rooftop Bar.

After a night on the rooftop you can wake up to the gym, spa and health club, where you can rejuvenate in the Turkish bath, sauna, indoor pool or massage cabins.

The architectural design is key to the heart of the hotel, with all Melia hotels placing strong importance on art and design. Portuguese architect João Paciência is designing the hotel, which will be home to semi-transparent glass facade, catching the eye of all onlookers.

Much of the internal decor brings perspective to local Lisbon attractions such as the trees of AVendida da Liberdade, bridging the gap between the hotel and the community around it.

Also key to the design of the property is sustainable, with technology implement without the hotel to minimise emissions and overall waste.

From here, Melia has ambitious plans with three more hotels planned across 2023 and 2024, in Spain, Malta and Mexico.
