Launching next month in the extraordinary region of southwestern Kenya is the JW Mariott Masai Mara Lodge.

It will be the first luxury lodge to be located in the Masai Mara National Reserve which Is known for its abundant wildlife.

The property is set to welcome guests from April 1 and the property will overlook the River Talek. The retreat will offer a backdrop for guests to explore the Reserve’s Vistas, wildlife and plains.

The accommodation offerings include 20 private luxury tents including a Honeymoon tented suite with a private plunge pool and two interconnecting canopied suites, each with a private plunge pool and two interconnecting suites. Each of those has a private terrace and jacuzzi overlooking the Mara plains.

The retreat will also have a restaurant, lounge, JW garden, bar, swimming pool, spa, and an outdoor terrace with a fire pit area.

The interiors of the lodge are inspired by the surroundings. The landscape will offer the opportunity to observe the “Big Five” that Masai Mara is home to, including lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinoceros, and elephants.

Between June and September, the reserve is also host to the annual great wildebeest migration, which sees more than 10 million animals travel a distance of 2,896 kilometres from the Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania.
