King Crab adventures in winter

A fantastic day out on the sea ice, Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express will show you how to catch, prepare and most importantly, eat these giants from the Barents Sea.

What a catch

Red King Crabs can weigh up to 10 kilos and have a leg span of 1.8 meters. An experienced fisherman will take you for an unforgettable King Crab Fishing tour on a snowmobile driven sleigh, where you will slide along the Langfjord to find pots hidden beneath the frozen surface of the Barents Sea. You are welcome to help pull up the King Crab cage from the depths of the ocean.

Your guide will tell you all you want to know about these mystical creatures before returning back to where a delicious king crab meal will await you in a warm, rustic farmhouse situated right next to the fjord. The portions are generous so no one will leave the table hungry.
