The lush wildlife, sandy white beaches and crystal clear waters of Kangaroo Island beckon, and a domestic holiday has never been easier with Sealink’s four-day ‘Overseas Road Trip with your Car’ package.

Included in the package is a return Sealink ferry fare for you and your car, three nights accommodation in a Rustic Cabin at Emu Bay Holiday Homes and a Kangaroo Island Overseas Passport that unlocks hundreds of dollars worth of potential savings across cafes, cellar doors, tours and more. All of this will set you back only $326 per person.

Kangaroo Island is the third largest island off the coast of Australia and with more than 1600 kilometres of roads to explore, driving is the best way to see it all. There are no taxis or public transport and car hire costs can run pretty steep, so tackling the roads in your own vehicle is the most cost effective option.

Most roads are sealed but if you’re in a 4WD there are plenty of unsealed roads for further adventuring. Although, a 2WD will still easily get you everywhere you need to go.

It’s important to drive carefully, particularly at night, as Kangaroo Island has abundant wildlife and you don’t want to collide with any leaping kangaroos or waddling echidnas making their way out for the night.

You can watch Sealink’s quick video for safe driving on the island here.

Another important tip is that if you head home on a later ferry, the nearest petrol station will 64km away, en-route to Adelaide. If your close to empty, it’s best to fill up your tank before you head off.

Four-days of driving and exploring will give you enough time to really get a feel for the rugged paradise that is Kangaroo Island before having to say goodbye.

What to do
