The line has just launched its second ship, Ambition, a sister ship to Ambience that was the first of their fleet to start sailing in 2022.
Ambience will be sailing Down Under from 2024. Just imagine this – a 49-night voyage from London to Sydney for just £4029. And it’s already proved so popular that Australians have booked their place with Ambassador.
But what’s the ship like?
Drawing inspiration from traditional British icons like the Buckingham restaurant as well as the Borough Market dining area, guests can meet in the No.10 Conference Room or settle in with a good book in Bronte’s Library.
We sat down with Dean Brazier, the cruise line’s Head of Sales and Marketing in Australia and New Zealand, to talk to us about what is different about Ambassador.
What is so different about Ambassador Cruise Line?

What is dining like onboard Ambience, which will be sailing to Australia?
Dining with Ambassador is always tailored to our guests, but exceptional service, outstanding cuisine and authentic flavours are guaranteed, each and every meal. So, whether it’s a full English for breakfast, a sunny al fresco lunch, or a six-course gala dinner, their dining wish is our desire! We’ve carefully crafted menus to blend traditional plates with locally inspired cuisine, letting our dish choices be shaped by the itineraries themselves.
Ambience has four restaurants on board – Sea & Grass, Saffron, Borough Market & Buckingham – each offering a unique and memorable dining experience for our guests. Sea & Grass is our premium dining venue, offering an intimate and exclusive setting with a traditional British menu; Saffron offers exceptional Indian fusion cuisine in a fine dining setting; and Borough Market is where flavours from around the world come together in a relaxed setting, allowing guests to craft their own unique dining experience with flavours from Italy, India, China, and more. Our main dining room, Buckingham, provides a social dining experience with an ever-changing menu inspired by fresh, local ingredients.
Ambience is also home to several bars, including the speakeasy-style Raffles Bar, the forever elegant Botanical Lounge, SW19, and the iconic Purple Turtle Pub, complete with a décor and atmosphere designed to make you feel that you’re enjoying a tipple in a great British drinking establishment rather than on the high seas.
And entertainment, how can guests spend their evening after a day onshore?
Both our ships offer an exciting entertainment programme in our show lounges and the Palladium theatre featuring song, dance, comedy and storytelling, courtesy of the Ambassador Theatre Company who have crafted an itinerary of performances hand-picked for our guests that feel as beautiful and diverse as the destinations they will visit between shows. Additional activities include arts and crafts, conference rooms, perfect for meetings; card rooms and a library.
Other features to enjoy include a shopping galleria; a fitness centre; an exterior jogging and walking track; a swimming pool, a splash pool and active pool; and the Green Sea Spa, complete with a sauna, steam room, hair salon and a range of restoring spa treatments.

Sailing via the Azores and Caribbean, Ambience will transit the Panama Canal, calling at islands of the South Seas and onto New Zealand and Australia, before unveiling highlights of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Tropical Indian Ocean islands are stepping stones to the excitement of Kenya. On to Durban and Cape Town in South Africa and Tristan da Cunha, the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world. It will then cross the Atlantic to Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, before voyaging home via Cape Verde, Casablanca and Lisbon.

What European sailings is Ambassador offering?
We offer a range of sailings for the over 50s market including round-Britain itineraries and cruises to the Norwegian Fjords, Northern Lights, Iceland, Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Belgium, France, Holland, Denmark and Sweden. Both Ambition and Ambience will sail in tandem to the Normandy coast, offering guests the chance to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings; two summers multigenerational and a new Easter multigenerational itinerary for all the family to enjoy; and a selection of Theme Cruises, complete with a wealth of legends of the stage and screen, guest experts, lecturers and entertainers set to bring those themes to life.
The season also includes a selection of ‘Short Sailings’, offering guests a choice of European City Breaks during the year as well as the chance to visit some of the continent’s most popular Christmas Markets during one of Ambassador’s popular Festive Getaways.
