For an insight into the Crete’s ancient past, visit the Heraklion Archaeological Museum or simply chill out at one of the golden beaches surrounding the port such as Ammoudara or Agia Pelagia.

During your  day at sea you can enrol for pilates, yoga or wine tastings and then take a spectacular scenic cruise through the historic Suez Canal, an extraordinary engineering feat connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Red Sea. The Suez Canal, completed in 1869 is one of the world’s most important shipping routes. As you sail the 193-km Canal you will notice the world’s largest swing bridge, the El Ferdan Railway Bridge, that spans the Canal.

Next you will call at a small port town of Safaga on Egypt’s Red Sea coast with its picturesque black sand beaches, turquoise waters and pristine reefs – a haven for snorkelers and divers. The Red Sea’s mineral-rich waters are renowned for their therapeutic healing properties and if time permits, head inland to ancient Luxor to view the incredible Valley of the Kings and other archaeological treasures.

Another exciting city awaits you when you cruise the exotic island of Java and stop at Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Immerse yourself in some traditional art forms such as puppetry and taste some of the wide-ranging Javanese street food shop at a local market.

In sharp contrast, you will discover Hindu temples and culture when you stop at beautiful Bali, the Island of the Gods, with its terraced rice fields, soaring mystical volcanoes and world-class surfing waters.
