Your transcontinental adventure starts in Sydney when you board the majestic Indian Pacific for your exciting journey of contrasts to Perth, covering 4350 kms in 65 hours.
Watch the ever-changing scenery from the heights of the Blue Mountains to the barren expanse of the Nullabor Plain. When evening falls, savour regionally inspired dinner paired with matching wines at the beautifully appointed Queen Adelaide restaurant car.
The next morning you will arrive in Broken Hill, one of the country’s outback bases where you will explore the mining history in this unique town. Your next stop is Adelaide where you can take a trip to Adelaide Hills to participate in the culinary delights of Hahndorf.
You will continue on your train journey stopping briefly in Cook, a ghost town where you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. In the evening you will stop at Rawlinna, a little outpost on the Nullabor Plain to enjoy dinner under the stars.
You will then arrive in Perth where you will disembark the Indian Pacific and spend three nights exploring the city and Fremantle. Take in the beautiful landscape of Kings Park and blooms of Botanic Gardens or you can immerse yourself in the frenetic energy of Elizabeth Quay.
Today you will pick up your car hire and gently drive to Margaret River region for your three-night escapade. Margaret River is known for its lovely wineries where you can sample some of the award-winning Shiraz at one of the 200 vineyards.
You will then make your way to Voyager Estate to enjoy some wine tasting and four-course lunch paired with matching wines.
The next day you can take a trip to Busselton Jetty which boasts the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. Make sure you visit Meelup Beach, one of the most picturesque and popular beaches with 400m of white sand.
