Silver Nova: The Ultimate Guide

Silver Nova will debut in Australia in late 2024

If your idea of a holiday involves good food and great views, Silver Nova might just be your new favourite way to travel. It’s Silversea’s latest luxury ship, but don’t expect over-the-top glitz or theme park vibes. This cruise ship is all about quiet luxury.

Sailing everywhere from the Alaskan fjords to the Amalfi Coast, Silver Nova’s 2025/26 itineraries are stacked with dreamy destinations. With fewer passengers on board and a whole lot more space to spread out, the vibe is unhurried, elegant, and incredibly comfortable.

Whether you’re planning a big anniversary trip, ticking off some bucket-list ports, or just need a break from reality (don’t we all), here’s everything you need to know about Silver Nova’s next season on the water.

2025/26 Itineraries and Destinations

If you’re the type who likes your adventures with a side of luxury, Silver Nova’s 2025/26 itineraries might just be your dream holiday. This isn’t your typical sun-and-sea cruise. It’s more like hopping between bucket-list destinations.

Alaska’s untamed beauty is front and centre with several 7- to 10-day sailings from Vancouver to Seward. Passengers will get to see icy fjords, glacial giants, and the kind of wildlife that makes your camera roll explode (e.g. whales, eagles, and maybe even a curious bear or two if you’re lucky). Plus, the ship is small enough to sneak into ports the big guys can’t reach, so you’ll get those more off-the-beaten-path experiences.

Over in Asia, you’ve got culture-soaked itineraries through Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and beyond. Silver Nova’s 14-day routes include big names like Hong Kong and Singapore, but also some hidden gems that don’t always pop up on mainstream cruise routes.

Then there’s the Mediterranean, where you’ll be dining on fresh calamari in Santorini one day and sipping wine in the Amalfi Coast the next. If cobblestone streets, ancient ruins, and long lunches by the sea are your thing, you’ll feel right at home here.

And let’s not forget Australia and New Zealand, because sailing from Melbourne to Auckland with stops in Tasmania and Fiordland is just about the best way to do summer. This is your ticket to stress-free exploring, one incredible port at a time.

Dining and Culinary Experience

If you think a cruise meal is just about buffet trays and soggy chips, Silver Nova is here to change that opinion. The ship’s dining scene is a full-blown culinary tour, with a lineup of venues that feel like high-end restaurants.

Atlantide is the main dining spot, but don’t let “main” fool you. Here, you get all white tablecloths and fine European dishes, like lobster thermidor or a perfectly cooked filet mignon.

La Terrazza is your go-to for Italian with its homemade pastas, creamy risottos, and views that go on forever. There’s a buffet-style setup for breakfast and lunch, but at dinner it flips into à la carte with waiters who know the wine list like the back of their hand.

If you’re feeling fancy, La Dame is the ship’s French fine dining experience, all lush decor and elegant plating. It’s the kind of place where you take your time, where three courses turn into five, and somehow you’re still thinking about that duck confit the next day.

If sushi’s your thing, Kaiseki delivers. Lunchtimes are light and fresh with rolls and sashimi, while dinner shifts to a theatrical teppanyaki setup.

Outside, The Marquee mixes it up with casual bites like pizza from Spaccanapoli, plus the ship’s signature “hot rocks” grill where you cook your steak on a sizzling slab.

And then there’s S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste), the cruise line’s immersive food concept. You’ve got the S.A.L.T. Kitchen, which changes menus based on where you are in the world. The S.A.L.T. Lab lets you join cooking classes tied to local cultures, and the S.A.L.T. Bar is where you sip regionally inspired cocktails.

Onboard Activities [Family, Kids, and Couple]

Silver Nova isn’t a ship packed with waterslides or kids’ clubs, but that’s part of the charm. It’s more about slow living, quality experiences, and having the space to do absolutely nothing but relax. That said, there’s still plenty going on, whether you’re flying solo, sailing as a couple, or travelling as a family with teens.

Couples will love the atmosphere here. Picture lazy mornings with room service on the balcony in your signature suite, followed by couples’ massages in the spa and afternoons by the pool with a cocktail in hand. Evenings are all about dressing up (just a bit), enjoying long dinners, and maybe catching some live music or a show.

For families with older kids or teens, Silver Nova works best when the focus is on shared experiences such as exploring glaciers in Alaska, learning to cook pho in Vietnam via the S.A.L.T. Lab, or just enjoying a movie under the stars. There’s no splash zone, but there’s culture, connection, and heaps of memory-making.

And if you just want to chill, you’ve got a wellness centre, a proper gym (with ocean views), and one of the most beautiful spas at sea with heated loungers, a sauna, and treatments that will make you forget what day it is.

Even the lounges and bars have their own personalities, from the quiet comfort of the Observatory Lounge to the livelier Panorama Lounge where everyone gathers for pre-dinner drinks and sweeping sea views.

Accommodations Details

There’s no such thing as “just a room” on Silver Nova. These are the newest and finest suites, and each one has an ocean view and a private balcony.

The Premium Veranda Suites are your entry-level option, though there’s nothing basic about them. The classic veranda suite is spacious, stylish, and with butler service included, these are perfect if you’re the kind of traveller who likes thoughtful details, like a pillow menu and walk-in wardrobe.

There are also Classic, Superior, and Deluxe Veranda Suites, which offer the same level of comfort but vary slightly in location and layout. They are closer to the action, higher up the ship, or tucked away for a bit more peace.

Step it up to a Silver Suite and you get more space to spread out, plus a bigger balcony and a separate spacious living room area for your pre-dinner aperitifs (or room service breakfast).

The Junior Grand Suites are some of the most distinctive new suites with panoramic views. Ideal if you’re big on scenery.

You’ve also got Medallion, Signature, Master, and Grand Suites, each with their own layout and style: more space, wraparound balconies, upgraded extras, and some seriously swoon-worthy views. Whether you’re after a quiet retreat or a statement space, there’s something in that mix.

And for those who like their holidays extra bougie, the Otium Suites are the crown jewel. You’ll find them right at the front of the ship, soaking in full wraparound views. There’s loads of room, upgraded amenities, and a vibe that feels more like a boutique hotel penthouse than anything else.

No matter the spacious suite, you get top-tier service, luxe linens, and stunning marbled bathrooms that put most five-star hotels to shame with their sumptuous walk-in showers and luxurious double vanity. It’s not just where you sleep, it’s part of the whole luxury experience.

Deck Plan

Silver Nova’s deck layout is fresh, sleek, and (thankfully) easy to navigate. There are 11 decks total, with 9 open to guests. The design breaks away from the usual cruise ship symmetry, with a more open and flowing layout that’s made to maximise views and bring more natural light into public spaces.

Top decks are where you’ll find the pool, whirlpool, and The Marquee, perfect for lazing about in the sun or grabbing a casual bite.

Mid-decks are where most of the action happens. There you’l find restaurants like Atlantide, La Dame, and SALT Kitchen, plus lounges like Dolce Vita and the Venetian Lounge (great for evening entertainment and lectures).

Lower guest decks house the bulk of the suites, and even here, it’s all about the view. Because the ship’s asymmetrical design means more wraparound spaces, you’re treated to better sightlines and more open-air spots for soaking it all in.

There’s also a spa and wellness zone, a boutique, a theatre, and plenty of intimate corners to settle into with a book or a cocktail.

FAQs

Is everything all-inclusive?

Pretty much. Your fare covers the big stuff like flights (if you go with the door-to-door option), transfers, tips, all your meals, drinks, Wi-Fi, and some shore excursions.

Is there a dress code onboard?

There is, but it’s nothing too uptight. During the day, it’s all casual and at night, it’s “elegant casual”. A collared shirt and chinos for the gentlemen, a dress or something smart for the ladies. No need for ballgowns or tuxes unless you’re really feeling it.

Is the cruise suitable for solo travellers?

Absolutely. Silversea’s known for being solo-friendly, and Silver Nova is no exception. There are occasional deals with reduced solo supplements, and the vibe onboard is easygoing and social, especially if you’re into shared tables or joining a small-group excursion.

What types of people travel with Silver Nova?

Mostly folks who like their travel a bit fancy but not flashy. This would mean well-travelled couples in their 50s and 60s, with a growing number of younger cruisers jumping onboard too. You won’t find party animals or kids running wild.
