Silver Muse: Ultimate Guide

The Silver Muse in Sydney Harbour with the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background

If you’re the kind of traveller who likes a bit of luxury with their travels, then the Silver Muse might just be your next favourite ship. Part of the Silversea Cruises fleet, she’s all about smaller crowds, bigger suites, and the sort of dining and service that makes you wonder why you ever consider anything else.

With space for just 596 guests, Silver Muse offers a more relaxed, elegant cruising experience, one where you can spend your days poolside, exploring bucket-list destinations, and eating some of the best food at sea. Here’s what you can expect when you step aboard for the 2025/26 season.

2025/26 Itineraries and Destinations

If you’re dreaming about ticking off a few more bucket list spots, Silver Muse has you covered. In 2025 and 2026, she’s keeping things classy with some gorgeous Mediterranean cruises, plus throwing in a few longer adventures for anyone wanting an in-depth voyage.

You’ve got options like a 10-day trip from Rome to Venice kicking off mid-September 2026, winding through those picture-perfect coastal towns that make you seriously rethink your life choices.

If you want to double up on the Italian magic, there’s a 9-day round-trip from Venice at the end of September 2026. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to do the pasta, wine, and wandering thing without the stress of airport connections.

If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, the Silver Muse is also lining up a huge 57-night expedition starting in Tokyo and ending in Sydney. You’ll get to see destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, New Zealand, and more.

Whether you’re after a quick Mediterranean getaway or ready to live at sea for two months, Silver Muse’s 2025/26 itineraries are all about relaxed luxury, beautiful ports, and giving you way more than a standard holiday.

Dining and Culinary Experience

When it comes to food on Silver Muse, it’s all about quality over quantity. Instead of those massive buffet halls, Silver Muse has created a proper dining scene with eight dining venues.

There’s La Dame, which is French fine dining at its most elegant. It does have a $60 cover charge, but it’s worth every cent if you’re in the mood to get a bit fancy. Kaiseki is the spot for Japanese, where the sushi is so fresh it almost spoils you for life. Atlantide is where you’ll want to go when you’re craving a proper steak or seafood cooked to perfection, while Indochine leans into Asian fusion, serving up flavours that’ll have you dreaming about them weeks later.

If Italian food is more your thing, La Terrazza serves up big, hearty plates with the sort of view that makes a good meal even better. Then there’s Silver Note, which pairs tapas-style dishes with live jazz, perfect if you feel like a more relaxed, late-night bite. For something even more casual, Spaccanapoli dishes up authentic Neapolitan pizza you can grab and go. And if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, The Grill lets you cook your own meat and seafood on hot lava stones right at your table.

If you’re keen on enjoying a destination’s food culture, Silver Muse also runs the S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program, which mixes onboard regional menus with proper foodie experiences ashore. Perfect excuse to eat and drink a little more “in the name of cultural research.”

Onboard Activities (Family, Kids, Couples)

Life onboard the Silver Muse is relaxed, elegant, and geared mostly towards adults who are there to unwind properly. If you’re travelling as a couple, you’ll have plenty to keep you busy without ever feeling like you’re on a tight schedule. You get to enjoy live music sessions in the Panorama Lounge, proper theatre-style shows in The Show Lounge, and enrichment lectures that teach about things like art, history, or the next destination on your trip.

When it comes to families, it’s fair to say that Silver Muse leans more towards being an adult-friendly ship. There’s no big kids’ club with characters or water parks, but they do have an Activities Room where younger cruisers aged between six and sixteen can hang out. They’ve even got two groups: younger kids are known as Silversea Comrades, and teens are Shipmates. That said, there aren’t scheduled activities running day-to-day, so it’s more about giving families space to enjoy time together..

The vibe overall is perfect for anyone who wants a grown-up getaway with a bit of glamour. If you’re bringing kids along, it works best if they’re the kind who are happy chilling by the pool, exploring ports with you, and maybe even enjoying a fancy dinner or two without needing constant onboard entertainment.

Accommodations Details

When they say all suites, they mean all suites. There are no inside cabins or windowless spaces on the Silver Muse. Every single room comes with an ocean view and its own butler.

Here’s a breakdown of your options:

  • Veranda Suite: Your entry point to the good life, complete with a big balcony for morning coffees and sunset selfies.
  • Silver Suite: More space to sprawl out, with a separate, generous living space if you like the idea of Netflix and actual relaxation.
  • Royal Suite: For when you’re feeling fancy, since the space it’s way bigger, with an epic entertaining space.
  • Grand Suite: A fancier upgrade with palatial bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, and jaw-dropping ocean views.
  • Owner’s Suite: Top of the tree. Your own floating penthouse.

All suites come with marble bathrooms (with bathtubs), premium linens, a comfortable living space, mini-bars stocked to your taste, and lovely big walk-in wardrobes. Plus, the butlers are legendary: always around when you need them, but never hovering awkwardly when you don’t.

If you’re wondering about other options, there’s a bit of variety too. Alongside the bigger suites, you’ve got a choice between Classic, Superior, and Deluxe Veranda Suites, all similar in style, just sitting on different decks.

There’s also the Panorama Suite, which swaps the balcony for a massive window, and the Vista Suite, which still gives you ocean views without the outdoor space. No matter what you pick, you’re getting a seriously comfy room with all the good stuff: a walk-in wardrobe, a marble bathroom, and your own butler.

Deck Plan

Silver Muse has 11 decks in total, with 8 open to guests, and everything’s laid out in a way that just makes sense.

On Deck 11, you’ll find the sun deck and the Observation Library, a.k.a the best spots for quiet time and killer views. Deck 10 is all about self-care, with the spa, fitness centre, and thermal suite.

Deck 9 is the social heart of the ship, with the big pool, three jacuzzis, and a couple of outdoor dining options like The Grill and Spaccanapoli. If you want poolside pizza or a steak cooked on hot rocks, this is your deck.

Deck 8 mostly houses suites, but it’s also where La Terrazza serves up Italian favourites, complete with a lovely outdoor terrace. Deck 7 keeps the food coming with Atlantide, Indochine, and the lively Silver Note for jazz and tapas nights.

Deck 6 is where the entertainment lives, with The Show Lounge for performances and the Panorama Lounge for drinks and live music after dinner. Down on Deck 5, you’ll find the reception, shore excursions desk, a few boutiques, and La Dame, the ship’s fancy French restaurant.

Decks 4 and below are mainly crew and service areas, so there’s not much for guests there.

Overall, Silver Muse keeps it simple: you’re never far from a great meal, a good view, or a comfy seat, exactly how a holiday at sea should be.

FAQs

Is everything all-inclusive?

Pretty much. Your fare covers your suite (with butler service), all your meals across the different restaurants, drinks (including wine, cocktails, and decent coffee), plus tips and at least one shore excursion at every port. Even flights and transfers are bundled in for a lot of trips. About the only extras you might splash out on are super fancy wines, spa treatments, or extra-special excursions ashore.

Is there a dress code onboard?

There is, but it’s not too over the top. During the day, it’s all casual gear: shorts, tees, sundresses, sandals, whatever’s comfy. In the evenings, it depends. Some nights are just “smart casual” (collared shirts, nice dresses), while others go a bit fancier with jackets for the gentlemen and cocktail dresses for the ladies. Every now and then, there’s a full-on formal night too, but you can opt out if that’s not your scene.

Is the cruise suitable for solo travellers?

Definitely. Silver Muse is great for solo travellers, and the Silversea cruise line often runs special solo deals too. The ship’s small enough that you’ll bump into familiar faces around the lounges, at dinner, or on excursions. Plus, the crew are brilliant at making everyone feel welcome.

What types of people travel on the Silver Muse?

The crowd tends to be well-travelled, pretty chilled-out, and usually 50-plus. You’ll find couples celebrating something special, seasoned cruisers who know a good thing when they see it, and a few solo travellers who want a bit of luxury.
