Silver Cloud was launched in 1994 and underwent refurbishment in 2015. In 2017, Silver Cloud will undergo another refit to transform it into a polar exploration vessel. As an expedition ship, the all-suite Silver Cloud will accommodate a maximum of 200 passengers when sailing Arctic and Antarctic itineraries and up to 260 guests on itineraries to non-polar regions. The luxury 16,927 tonne ship is popular with well-travelled, mature couples.
Silver Cloud is an all-suite vessel with well-appointed accommodation. There are 146 suites with panoramic ocean views, 100 of which have balconies. There are seven categories of suites, which range from 250 square feet to more than 1,300 square feet. Butler service is available for every cabin to assist guests with dinner reservations and restock the in-suite mini-fridge. The bath products on board are from SebaMed, Bvlgari and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Silver Cloud has several dining options. The Restaurant is an open-seating dining room serving gourmet meals including Mediterranean-themed dishes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all a la carte and served by a waiter. Le Champagne is a 20-seat speciality restaurant offering French cuisine. This is a reservation-only and dinner-only restaurant featuring dishes by Relais & Chateaux. The Pool Bar and Grill on the pool deck offers fast-food refreshments all day.
The Spa at Silversea, located on Deck 7, has treatment rooms for body wraps, anti-aging facials and Swedish massage, plus saunas and a beauty salon for hair cutting, styling and colouring for both men and women. The spa also offers teeth whitening and colon therapy sessions. A separate gym is located at the top of the ship with ocean views.
Silver Cloud allows children over the age of one year on board and cots and pull-out beds are available in some suites. However, there are no programs and facilities for kids and the ship is not recommended for passengers below the age of 16 years.

The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. There were some issues with the air con, but our butler delivered a fan for our room the first day and we were quite comfortable. I might have rated this just four stars except for the fact that we LOVED the small size. We met many of our fellow passengers and crew members which greatly enhanced our experience. We booked a South America cruise while on board. It will be on the new Silver Muse in 1/2018. The ship looks lovely and there are many dining choices. I just hope the intimacy that we experienced on the Silver Cloud isn’t lost on a larger ship. – skier69
