Norwegian Sun was built in 2001 and underwent refurbishment in 2016. It is the second Sky -class ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet. Passengers range from young families to mature cruisers. During school holiday periods, Norwegian Sun is filled with kids enjoying all the activities on offer. The ship is 848 feet long with a gross tonnage of 78,309. It carries 1,936 passengers and 906 crew.

Norwegian Sun has 968 staterooms in 32 different categories, from inside cabins (145 square feet) to the Owners Suites (828 square feet), which sleep up to four guests and have large balconies. Suites have bathtubs, laptops, separate bedroom, living room with sofa beds, mini-fridge, hairdryer, personal safe and concierge and butler service.

There are different dining destinations on board Norwegian Sun. The main restaurants, Seven Seas Restaurant and Four Seasons offer open seating and daily-changing menus. The Great Outdoor Café and the Garden Café both offer complimentary buffet meals, and Las Ramblas is a modern Tapas bar with dishes from around the world. Specialty restaurants include Le Bistro (French), La Cucina (Italian), Cagney’’s Steakhouse (premium steaks and seafood) and Teppanyaki (Japanese).

The Mandara Spa & Fitness Centre offers traditional and exotic spa treatments, salon services, sauna and steam rooms, a gym and an aerobics room. There are two pools, a combined sports court, shuffle board and a jogging track on board.

Norwegian Sun has lots of fun activities for young cruisers. The Splash Academy for kids has painting, movies, games, crafts and arts as well as naptime space. Splashes Kid’s Pool has a waterfall and a children’s hot tub. Teens have a club all for themselves with a dance floor, bar, video, jukebox, table football and air hockey. There is also a video arcade.
