Built in 2008, MS Eurodam is the first of Holland America Lineย’s Signature-class cruise ships. The 86,273 tonne liner has 12 passenger decks and can cater for up to 2,104 guests, with 876 crew. In 2015, the ship received an upgrade as part of a $300 million fleet-wide enhancement, which saw the suites refurbished and the introduction of new lounge, dining and entertainment venues. The atmosphere onboard is relaxed and informal, and the large decks provide a feeling of spaciousness.
Accommodation
MS Eurodam has 1,052 suites and staterooms in differing price categories, most of which have an outside view or private balcony. All staterooms have a new interactive television system, which features large LED flat-screen TVs with complimentary movies on demand and easy access to the daily program and shipboard information including restaurant overviews, spa services and guest billing.
Food
The main restaurant on MS Eurodam is two-level Rembrandt Dining Room, which serves five-course meals with vegetarian, low-carb and continental dishes. Breakfast is served at 7.30-9am and Lunch noon-1pm. For dinner there is set seating at 5.45pm or 8.15pm on the upper level and open seating on the lower level from 5.30-9.15pm. Other dining options include Pinnacle Grill, with dishes inspired by America’s Pacific Northwest, Canaletto for authentic Italian cuisine, Tamarind for Asian dishes, and Lido Market with themed stations.
Activities
MS Eurodam guests can choose for various on board activities including swimming and yoga lessons. Greenhouse Spa treatments include manicure, pedicure and massage. The gym has Pilates, indoor cycling, cardio equipment, circuit-training machines and free weights. Families
MS Eurodam offers Club HAL, the fleet-wide program for children and teenagers. Three to six year olds can join activities such as pirate treasure hunts, storytelling, crafts, ice-cream sundae parties and a farewell pajama party. Tweens (seven-12 years) take part in Xbox tournaments, relay races, scavenger hunts and karaoke disco parties. The Loft for Teens (13-17 years) has mocktail mixology classes, late night sporting competitions, hip hop classes, scavenger hunts, tech classes and teen-only night club events. When there are more than 100 children on board, a HAL Talent Show is offered. The Culinary Arts Center has cooking classes for kids and teens.
