MS Beethoven was built in 2004 and underwent refurbishing in 2010. The 360-foot river boat cruises along the Danube and Rhine rivers. It has three decks and carries 180 guests. The majority of the passengers are Americans and Europeans (typically aged 45 years and above). The languages used on board are French and English.

There are 90 cabins on board MS Beethoven, each measuring 140 square feet. There are 42 cabins on the Upper Deck, 27 on the Middle Deck and 21  on the Main Deck. All of the cabins have individual air-conditioning, television, radio, phone (for internal calls), bathroom with shower, personal safe and hairdryer.

The onboard restaurant serves a buffet breakfast and lunch, and three-course dinner, all in single sittings. French and international cuisine is prepared by French chefs. Guests can join food and wine tasting events on board and there are shore excursions to sample local wines and traditional cuisine.

MS Beethoven has a lounge bar with a dance floor, a large sundeck with deckchairs and a gift shop.

There are no facilities specifically for children on board, but triple cabins are available and children aged two to nine years receive a discounted fare.
