Oceania Insignia

Insignia was launched in 1998. In 2014, it was taken over by Oceania Cruises and given a multimillion-dollar refit. Insignia features teak decks, custom stone and tile work and neo-classical furnishings. This ship is recommended for mature cruisers and couples who enjoy good food and service in relaxed, elegant surrounds. The 30,277 tonne ship has nine passenger decks and can carry 684 guests and 400 crew.

Accommodation

There are 342 staterooms and suites in nine categories on board Insignia, nearly 70 per cent with private verandahs. The largest accommodation is the Owner’ย’s Suite which is nearly 1,000 square feet. The standard inside and outside cabins are quite compact and measures 160 to 165 square feet. All rooms have a Queen-size bed with 1,000-thread-count linen, refrigerated mini-bar with free and unlimited soft drinks and bottled water, Bulgari toiletries, Belgian chocolates with nightly turndown service, flat-screen television with live satellite news and programming, DVD player, Wi-Fi, desk, safe, hairdryer, robes and slippers.

Food

Insignia’s main restaurant is the Grand Dining Room, which has open seating and features Continental dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Casual meals are available at the Terrace Cafรฉ (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and Waves Grill (lunch). There are also two specialty restaurants for dinner, which require reservations: Polo Grill is a steak house and Toscana serves Tuscan and other Italian cuisine.

Activities

Insignia’s Canyon Ranch SpaClub has a spa terrace, steam rooms, styling salon, treatment rooms and a whirlpool. It offers services such as skincare, acupuncture, body wraps, Ayurveda and exotic treatments. The fitness centre has the latest exercise equipment and classes in indoor cycling, aerobics, Pilates and yoga. There is a large heated pool and a sports deck with a golf putting green, shuffleboard and a fitness track for walking and jogging.

Families

Insignia has no special areas or facilities for children.
