Carnival Victory serves as an excellent quick escape for the line’s aficionados. The vessel’s theme carries through the ship via a largely green and blue colour scheme, complete with dark woods and blue-green Tiffany-style glass domes in both the atrium area and the entrance to the Pacific Dining Room. Carnival Victory has all the traditional Carnival must-haves: an exuberant main dining room and a two-deck Lido buffet, a bright, centrally located casino, a bar-lined promenade, an impressive spa, a comprehensive Camp Carnival program for kids, a daily schedule of jocular activities, and more than enough places to drink and socialise.

Cabins are adorned with an ethereal blue and cream colour scheme, fresh paint and carpeting, new closets and drawers, flat-screen TVs, and added amenities such as nightstands and mini-fridges. Generally, two twin beds can be converted into one king. Bathrooms in all categories have showers, hair dryers and medicine cabinets. All cabins have desk/vanity areas with mirrors and a few drawers. Closets offer a decent amount of space, including shelves and bars with hangers, as well as card-operated safes. Carnival Victory has 42 Ocean Suites, along with eight Grand Suites. Junior Suites include VIP check-in at embarkation, as well as standard-sized balconies, walk-in closets and whirlpool tubs. Thirty-two cabins are wheelchair accessible.

Carnival Victory has two main dining rooms, Atlantic and Pacific, each spanning two decks. Both floors of the Pacific, as well as one floor of the Atlantic are for set-seating dining, offering two set seating times for dinner. Passengers also have the option to sign up for My Time Dining, Carnival’s flex-dining program, which takes place on one floor of the Atlantic. Carnival Victory’s more casual buffet venue is the Mediterranean Restaurant. It’s fashioned after a seaside Italian villa. Standard breakfast choices are offered daily, including scrambled eggs, breakfast meats and fried potatoes. Also available on all of Carnival’s ships is The Chef’s Table dining experience, which affords a dozen passengers a multi-course dinner with a master chef, a private cocktail reception and a tour of the galley and its operations.

On Deck 11, Spa Carnival offers hot stone massages, facials and an Ionithermie Detox ($159 per session). On Deck 11, there’s a running track along with a couple of shuffleboard courts and open deck space that’s great for yoga, push-ups, lunges or anything for which you won’t find space in the fitness centre. There’s plenty of equipment in the fitness facility: bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, rowing machines, free weights, weight machines and exercise balls. The gym also houses two hot tubs and men’s and women’s locker rooms, each with a steam room and sauna. Specialty classes (yoga, Pilates) are available for $12. Personal trainers are also available for an additional charge.

Carnival has activities set up for every age group, from toddlers to teens. There is an outdoor area with a kiddie pool and table tennis. Camp Carnival features toys and games, a wall of computers and plenty of seating and floor space for activities that include treasure hunts, Wii video game play, arts and crafts, LEGO playtime, trivia and board games, family scavenger hunts and the for-fee Beary Cuddly Workshop, which allows children to stuff their own plush animals, complete with outfits. Kids can also elect to eat dinner with Camp Carnival in the Lido. Menu items feature kid favorites like chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, Tater Tots and cookies.
