Avalon Expression was launched in 2013. The 443-foot river vessel has two full decks of Panorama Suites with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to transform the living area into a balcony. It carries 164 passengers and 47 crew on itineraries along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

Avalon Expression has 16 staterooms and 67 suites. There are two Royal Suites (300 square feet) and 65 Panorama Suites (200 square feet) with living areas and wall-to-wall windows. Deluxe Staterooms have non-opening windows and are 172 square feet. All rooms have air-conditioning, private bathroom with shower, satellite television, telephone, radio, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, ample storage, desk, personal safe and mini-bar.

The spacious, open-seating dining room serves a full buffet breakfast with sparkling wine and a made-to-order egg station, a lunch buffet with carving and pasta stations and four-course dinners featuring local ingredients. Healthy meal options are available and complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks are offered with dinner and lunch. The Sky Bistro offers al fresco dining and the Panorama Bistro serves light lunch and dinner.

The Sky Deck has lounge chairs, shade awnings, a whirlpool and a games area. There is an onboard fitness centre and a hair salon, which also offers manicures. Nightly onboard entertainment includes lectures and movie nights, and cabins have English-speaking TV channels and free movies. There is free Wi-Fi access, a computer area and a well-stocked library. Bicycles and Nordic walking sticks are available for guests to use.
