AmaVida cruises on the Douro River in Portugal, departing from Porto. The 260-foot river vessel was purpose built in 2013 and is fitted out like a stylish hotel. It can carry 106 guests and 30 crew over three decks.

There are 53 cabins and two suites on board AmaVida, 70 per cent with balconies. Accommodation ranges from 161 square feet lower deck cabins with a window to 323 square feet balcony suites. All cabins have deluxe hotel-style bedding with Egyptian linen, down pillows and duvet, bathroom with multi-jet shower, air-conditioning, personal safe, hairdryer, ample storage space, flat-screen television and free Wi-Fi.

AmaVida offers several dining options including  the Main Restaurant and an al fresco dining area that seats 32 guests. Casual dining is also offered in the Main Lounge. Menus feature locally-inspired cuisine as well as traditional offerings.

AmaVida has a sun deck with a pool, plus a fitness area and spa. Local musicians and performers provide evening entertainment in the Main Lounge.
