ShipsAmazon Discovery is an all-suite river cruise ship, built in 2015. The 169-foot river vessel carries 44 passengers and 30 crew along the Amazon River in Peru.

Amazon Discovery has 22 suites over two decks, ranging from 237 to 257 square feet. Suites have floor-to-–ceiling windows, air-conditioning, Peruvian cotton linens, deluxe beds, spa robes and slippers, telescope, personal safe, hairdryer and MP3/iPod dock.

Amazon Discovery’s spacious, open-seating restaurant serves a mix of traditional Peruvian specialties and Western favorites using seasonal ingredients. Breakfast is a buffet, while lunch and dinner are seated multiple-course meals. Complimentary coffee, tea, mineral water, soft drinks, local beer and Pisco-based cocktails are on offer. House wine is served with dinner.

On board entertainment includes natural history lectures, cultural performances, cooking classes and nightly entertainment in the lounge. There is an outside viewing deck, a small gym, a rainforest spa and an outdoor plunge pool.

Avalon Waterways does not accept children under eight years of age and there are no special arrangements or activities for children on its ships.
