ShipsAIDAluna was built in 2009. It targets German-speaking couples, singles and families who appreciate good value, entertainment and casual dining. The 69,203 tonne ship has 13 passenger decks and carries 2050 passengers and 646 crew.

AIDAluna has 1,025 staterooms, from compact interior cabins to balcony suites. All of the suites/cabins have twin beds convertible to a queen-size bed and small bathrooms with a shower. Some cabins have extra beds to accommodate children and there are interconnected rooms for families.

AIDAluna has three self-serve buffet restaurants: Markt (Market), Weite Welt (Wide World) and Bella Vista for Italian dishes. Other dining options include the Buffalo Steakhouse, Rossini Restaurant (dinner only), Pizzeria Mare and a sushi bar.

The Body & Soul Spa Complex spans two decks with saunas, indoor whirlpool, massage and treatment rooms and relaxation rooms. There is an open-air wellness deck for nude sunbathing, plus a fitness centre and a beauty salon for pedicures, manicures and barber/hairdresser services.

AIDAluna is recommended for families with children. Kids are split into age groups: Seepferdchen (4-6 year olds), Delfine (7-9 year olds), Sharks (10-11 year olds), Orcas (12-13 year olds), and Teens (14-17 year olds). Each age group has a specific playroom and there is an activities program similar to a holiday camp.
