AIDAaura was launched in 2003 and at 42,289 is one of the smaller ships of the AIDA Cruises fleet. It has 10 passenger decks and can accommodate 1,266 passengers and 389 crew. AIDAaura is a casual ship, popular with German-speaking families travelling with their children and cruisers of all ages seeking value for money.

AIDAaura has 633 staterooms from compact interior cabins to balcony suites. All of the suites/cabins have twin beds convertible to a queen-size bed and small bathrooms with a shower. Some cabins have extra beds to accommodate children and there are interconnected rooms for families.

There are two large main restaurants on board AIDAaura, both casual, open-seating buffets. Rossini is a small, dinner-only restaurant offering five- and six-course menus (reservations are required). There is also a wine bar and pizzeria.

AIDAura’s Body & Soul Spa has treatment rooms, a relaxation area, saunas and ice walls. There are two pools, five hot tubs, a fitness centre, a golf simulator and a beauty salon for pedicure, manicure and barber/hairdresser services.

AIDAura is recommended for families with children. Kids are split into age groups: Seepferdchen (4-6 year olds), Delfine (7-9 year olds), Sharks (10-11 year olds), Orcas (12-13 year olds), and Teens (14-17 year olds). Each age group has a specific playroom and there is an activities program similar to a holiday camp.
