Australian cruise brand Scenic tonight announced a second luxury expedition yacht – just days since the launch of the first.

According to the company announcement: “Following the extraordinary global interest in 6-star Scenic Eclipse, we are proud to announce our flagship will be joined by a sister ship, Scenic Eclipse II.”

The first discovery yacht will make its debut mid-year.  It went down the slipway just days ago, and is now being fitted out with 114 all-balcony suites, 10 dining venues and eight lounges and bars.

She will sail her first voyage in August from Istanbul to Venice, before reposition to Canada and the Arctic.

The revolution design and luxury fit out has been created by Scenic founder and chair Glen Moroney, who has already produced world-beating vessels on rivers in Europe and Asia.

Eclipse includes a marina deck, helicopters and a submarine.

Launching in 2020, Scenic Eclipse II will embark on her maiden voyage from Athens to Lisbon, before her debut season of  itineraries visiting the European and Russian Arctic regions, including the Northwest Passage.  Itineraries will be released in April 2018.
