Staying Safe and Secure on Symphony of the Seas
The safety and security of guests, staff and ships are always the highest priority and fundamental to operations for Royal Caribbean. For more than 42 years they’ve been committed to the safety of the millions of people that sail and work on their ships. To achieve excellent maritime security, they monitor facilities and processes, implement innovations, and comply with maritime safety regulations.
At the commencement of each cruise, all guests and crew complete a safety drill to ensure familiarity with actions to take in the unlikely event of an emergency. In addition, regular ongoing training for officers and staff is of the highest standard and designed to prepare for unprecedented emergencies and evacuation procedures. All Royal Caribbean vessels comply with the U.S. Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act (CVSSA) requirements, including railing heights, access control, closed circuit TV, medical preparedness, crime allegation reporting and crew training.

Symphony of the Seas Ship Accessibility
So that all Symphony of the Seas guests can participate in cruise holidays and entertainment programs fully, Royal Caribbean strives to provide guests with special needs, the best and most accessible cruise experience possible.
For ease of boarding, ship gangways are wide enough to accommodate the majority of wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Symphony of the Seas has 46 accessible staterooms with spaces to turn, roll-in showers and grab bars.
To best support guests with partial or full visual impairment, Oasis Class ships are equipped with accessible wayfinding and signage, including tactile signs and buttons in public spaces and elevators, braille deck numbers on staircase handrails and assistive listening systems.
In order to provide guests with the best accessible cruise experience possible, a Guest Special Needs Form must be submitted at time of booking but no later than 30 days prior to sailing, except for sign language interpreting requests which must be submitted 60 days prior to sailing.
