Welcome to the River Cruise Collective. It’s a brilliant new partnership between Cruise Passenger and four of the world’s leading cruise lines.
In the next few months, we will be bringing you news, reviews, videos and podcasts that gives you access to the world of river cruising like you’ve never seen it before.
And we will be offering FOUR amazing prizes – one from each of our partners. That will give you the chance to sample some of the best river cruising on the planet.
Whether you’re a river cruising convert already. Or yet to take your first river sojourn, this collective will give you access to information to choose, plan and take your cruise.
You’ll be astonished at the variety and value of river cruising. It is younger, more adventurous, more luxurious, more exclusive, more connected, more immersive and more rewarding than virtually any other holiday.
Our River Cruise Collective partners
We are proud to be partnering with AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways, Tauck, and Uniworld. Each one offers an array of unique journeys, amazing value and a world full of memories.
We will travel the various rivers of the globe. On every style of ship, catering to every budget, meeting every culture, tasting every meal and experiencing every valuable memory.
Our podcast series will include interviews with each of the lines about what makes them so special. We will be de-bunking the myths of river cruising and revealing the behind-the-scenes moments that passengers find so memorable.
We will also have a handful of exclusive deals on offer for our audience, so don’t miss out!
Whether we are exploring the Pyramids along the Nile in Egypt, the snake river cruises of Columbia, tasting the port along the Duoro in Portugal. Or being immersed in a water blessing ceremony on the Mekong, the River Cruise Collective is going to broaden your mind about what’s on offer. And that’s just the destinations!
Modern fleet of ships
Onboard, river cruise ships have undergone a transformation like never before. They’re bigger than ever, but still maintain that intimacy of a river ship. They’re more luxurious than ever, with spas and gyms, they’re designed for entertaining with rooftop infinity pools and cabanas and daybeds.
The cabins are designed to feel like you’re floating on the rivers, with balconies and windows that connect you with the life of the riverbanks. There’s attention to detail, while you are free to roam and explore, relax and unwind. Or pick up the pace and access the smaller hidden towns and villages that only river cruising gives you access to.
And then there’s the food… dining on the river has become more immersive than ever. Chefs hit the ground running in various ports, sourcing the freshest local ingredients. They are hand-selecting produce from local providers. And designing menus that are authentic to the regions and the cultures you’re sailing through. Sounds delicious doesn’t it! Not to mention the wines that are sourced from the best vineyards this world has to offer.
The benefits of river cruising
When you think about the benefits that river cruising offers compared to the costs, the time and the energy wasted by land travel, you’ll be re-thinking river cruising in a heartbeat. There really is something so magical about waking up in a new region every morning, looking out your balcony window and knowing you have been transported to a new realm while you slept.
There is a reason why Aussies are flocking to river cruising with a new sense of enthusiasm. Firstly, it’s because we deserve it. Secondly, it’s because it’s phenomenal value for money. And thirdly, it’s because river cruising has never been a more fabulous form of travel, immersion, connection and adventure.
Here at Cruise Passenger, we’re confirmed river cruise fans and we can offer heaps of advice to help you on your journey.
We’ll be inviting you to events and giving you lots of chances to experience what river cruising is about.
Join us at The River Cruise Collective to broaden your mind and your bucketlist of where you will explore next.
we travelled down the Rhine with Avalon and the trip was floorless and one that we still reflect fondly on today. One day we would love to do a winters markets river cruise as our dream holiday.

Been to Europe before but never on a river cruise
Hey Alby, was there a particular line you were looking at?
Do you do any cruises on the Nile?
A river cruise from a different perspective.
We are fairly seasoned cruisers I guess but have decided that River cruising takes the Gold Medal. The beauty of a new experience daily takes river cruising to the top!! Looking at 2025 to go again with Southern France or Vietnam/Cambodia on the plan.
How do we sign up for River Cruise Collective?
We would like to travel in June 2025 on French rivers
I’ve travelled with Avalon down the Rhine and couldn’t fault it, had a great time. Would love to experience Douro or France in the future.
I would love to go and do the Rhine valley , or any river system in Europe .
Having cruised with both uni world and Apt and have done 6 cruises have found tha Apt has cost cut from one year to next .same cruise for example apt meals aren’t as god the last one we did missed gust performers on board no little treats when returning on board they say they are 5 star but they are not ..Their covert safety was poor .lots more not happy with .eg we passed through lovely cities beautiful breads but the bread on board was much of same .
We are seriously considering a couple of River Cruises late August 2025. Any information on Paris to Normanby and the Duro River cruises would be fabulous.
Thank you
