Uniworld, the river line which prides itself on unique offerings, has announced a series of new cruises including a massive 50-night Rivers of the World journey to celebrate the brand’s 50th birthday in 2026.

The line will also offer a women-only itinerary and a special golfing cruise next year.

The announcements came as Uniworld unveiled its collaboration with Australian kaftan designer Camilla Franks at a Sydney restaurant on Wednesday with president Ellen Bettridge present.

The collaboration is part of the line’s promotion of its sailings on the Nile – Camilla’s team have produced a range of cloths inspired by the designer’s Uniworld journey down the world’s longest river in 2022.

Camilla spoke at length about the inspiration the Nile cruise gave her, as her staff paraded the collection of clothes she has produced from the journey.

Uniworld Australia and New Zealand MD Alice Ager said Australians needed to put Egypt on their bucket lists. Over 500,000 visited the Ramses exhibition at the Australia Museum – demonstrating the huge interest in the country.

Bettridge said Uniworld will continued to be different.

“Uniworld continues to innovate and elevate. That’s what we’re focused on. We want to do things differently. We don’t want to be like everybody else.

“We want to motivate you and your guests.

“So in 2024 we launched the super ship Victoria and we brought it into our fleet and we took our guests off the ship at night into our nights out excursions. And we also ensured that they had a lot of fun in our seventies nights.

“So these are the things that we’re gonna continue to do.”

The Rivers of the World cruise 2026 runs from Brussels to Cairo and features several of the most incredible experiences Uniworld has developed. The waitlist opens today.

Camilla Franks, dressed in her Nefertiti dress, a tribute to the Queen of the 18th Dynasty in Egypt, explained how the country had inspired her latest collection:

“Egypt has been the top of my bucket list since I first started this brand. It’s a 20 year journey where I threw myself into a world I knew nothing about.

“For me, Egypt has so many layers to it and I’m always in search of the unknown and the unexpected and, and getting off the beaten path and immersing myself into something that really ignites my creativity – Egypt has so many layers to it.”

She said she had designed the collection as a homage to Egypt.

“When I’m designing a print and a collection, it’s to really pay homage to the people I’ve met, the places I’ve gone, the experiences I’ve been on and so this collection is called House of the Sun because it made an imprint on my heart and soul like the Sun does.”

“So this is my ode to Egypt and I hope you love her as much as I have.”
