Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, one of the world’s luxury river cruise lines, has announced the exciting addition of three new Super Ships to its fleet. The new ships will be brand-new constructions, embodying the pinnacle of luxury and craftsmanship that the line is renowned for.
Set to debut in 2027, these ships will follow Uniworld’s blueprint of a “floating boutique hotel”, prioritising grand design elements and extraordinary décor.
The continuation of luxury
Uniworld have stated that the new Super Ships will continue their legacy of ultra-luxury, intricate design and attention-to-detail, in both the ships’ style and the service onboard. With an average capacity of 120 guests, each Uniworld ship is carefully crafted to provide the ultimate guest experience. From hand-carved wood to marble floors, Uniworld is proud of its high-quality features, and these new ships will be no different.
Another distinctive feature of Uniworld’s ships is how their décor reflects the art and heritage of the destinations they visit. The immersion into culture does not start when you step foot onshore but on the very ship itself. An example is their recently built Super Ship S.S. Emilie, inspired by Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and named after his beloved partner and muse, Emilie Flöge. When sailing down the Danube aboard the S.S. Emilie, her interior will reflect the beauty of early 20th century Viennese architecture and artwork, as well as Klimt’s signature elegant gold decoration, making the experience even more immersive and grand.
Uniworld’s new ships will follow S.S. Emilie’s lead by also being inspired by influential figures found in their sailing destinations. More European grandeur can therefore be expected in the custom design of these luxury ships.
Expansion of the fleet
Uniworld’s announcement of three new ships comes after the recent launch of their other Super Ships: the S.S. Emilie in 2026, the S.S. Elisabeth in 2025 and the S.S. Victoria in 2024. These new ships expanded the line’s fleet by over 10% since 2020, and are all destined for (or already sailing in) Europe.
Despite this fast growth, Uniworld has promised that the high levels of luxury and attention-to-detail expected found on their ships will not be compromised, but instead elevated.
Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises says, “Our focus has never been on simply adding more ships, but on continually raising the bar on the luxury river cruise experience. These new vessels will embody our unwavering commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, delivering something truly unparalleled for our valued guests – where no detail is too small.”
The addition of more ships to Uniworld’s fleet is a testament to the growing interest surrounding river cruising. Guests continue to be seduced by the easy access to stunning cities, the smaller crowds and unique cultural immersion.
