Trafalgar to expand into river cruising with two new ships next year

  • Tour operator, Trafalgar will debut two new river ships, Trafalgar Reverie and Trafalgar Verity in 2026.
  • Two new journeys on the Rhine and Danube will be launched.
  • Guests can opt for an eight-day cruise from Budapest to Passau and a 10-day cruise from Basel to Amsterdam.

Tour operator Trafalgar, one of the largest land tour operators in the world, is expanding into river cruising in Europe with the launch of two river ships on the Rhine and Danube next year.

Trafalgar will kick off with two new journeys, an eight-day cruise on the Danube aboard the 128-guests Trafalgar Reverie and a 10-day cruise on the Rhine on the 128-passenger, Trafalgar Verity.

Trafalgar is part of The Travel Corporation which also has the luxury Uniworld Boutique River Cruises.

Trafalgar Reverie has been designed with several lounges, a massage room and a fitness centre while Trafalgar Verity has a 1930s vibe with rich blue and white furnishings including marble bathrooms.

Highlights of the two river cruises

Trafalgar Reverie will explore the history and culture during the eight-day cruise from Budapest to Passau. Guests will be taken to explore and take in Budapest’s landmarks, Bratislava’s medieval charm and Vienna’s vibrant café culture.  They will also dine at Austria’s oldest winery and discover Bratislava’s Cold War history. Prices start at $ 4399 per person.

Trafalgar Verity will cruise from Basel to Amsterdam on a 10-day cruise to visit Cologne Cathedral, the romantic Middle Rhine Gorge and Strasbourg’s charming old town. Guests will visit a family-run farm where for generations, the family has been cultivating fresh produce. They will also learn about the production of artisanal vinegar. Prices start from $5399 per person.
