French champagne, fashion and Uniworld’s luxury river cruises

What’s not to like? French champagne, Dior high fashion, a private screening of the movie Mrs Harris Goes to Paris and Uniworld’s luxurious river sailing on the Seine in France.

When it comes to all things French, there’s no shortage of impeccably dressed, beautifully coiffured ladies who turned out for Uniworld’s exclusive soiree held at Dior’s flagship store in Castlereagh St last night.

This was followed by an intimate evening of travel and fashion-inspired clothes to pack when cruising on the romantic waterways of France. This was held at the nearby QT Hotel which has a private screening room reserved exclusively for Uniworld.

The elegant event was Uniworld Boutique River Cruises’ calling card to attract ladies who lunch as potential river cruisers on the romantic rivers of France and Europe.

Decked out in Dior from head to toe, Julie Apart and her best friend, Verna Jamieson are thinking of going on their first river cruise with Uniworld from Amsterdam to Budapest.

“We lost our husbands and now we like to travel together – in style,” says Ms Jamieson.

Another retiree Catherine Archer and her husband will be taking their first Uniworld cruise in France this October. If everything goes well, her friend, Nola Barber is tempted to do the same itinerary next year.

Uniworld’s key account manager, Jen Pagett was in her element as she merrily chatted about the joys of cruising with the line’s luxurious European fleet.
