Celebrity River Cruises new venture into the river cruising world has turned plenty of heads. And some might think they’re already too late to join in the fun of the first season. After all, the first tranche was reportedly sold in six minutes and the entire season sold out in five hours.
However, Celebrity’s website still shows plenty of options for those looking to book, with 29 different cruises available in 2027 across the Danube and Rhine. While cabins are definitely moving quickly, with plenty of cabin categories already sold out on select cruises, all indications are there’s still plenty to choose from who want to enjoy Celebrity’s inaugural river season.
If you’re measuring it up by value, the best price you’ll find is a seven-night Danube river sailing starting from $5795.
For special occasions such as Christmas or New Year sailings, while there are still some cabins available, you’ll need to fork out closer to $10,000 for some cruises to get onboard, with remaining New Year’s and Christmas sailings starting from $9312 and $9684 respectively.
However, there are some better value options still available, such as a Rhine ‘Basel Holiday’ seven-night sailing starting from $6423, running on December 23, 2027.
The sailings run between August and December 2027, and especially if you have a bit of flexibility in your travel dates, you should still be able to find something that suits you, with prices and availability jumping around a bit depending on the exact sailing.
Looking forward, Celebrity has signalled that 2028 itineraries should be available from 2026 for those who are hoping to get onboard Celebrity Seeker and Celebrity Compass.
Celebrity has ordered a total of eight ships and is already causing ripples around the rivers of Europe with boasts of on-board swimming pools, multiple dining venues and revolutionary ship design.
Celebrity is, of course, a Royal Caribbean brand. The line is known for big ships and big campaigns, so its entry into the genteel world of European river cruising has been watched in awe by many of the long established brands..
The fact that they have achieved strong sales without a ship in the water speaks to the fact that much of their marketing has been aimed at Celebrity customers – new to rivers but not new to the celebrity brand.
A dream come true
