  • Avalon Waterways will introduce three new cruise and land itineraries.
  • Avalon will debut the collection of seven tour programs in 2027.
  • The new collection span multiple countries.

Avalon Waterways is responding to an increasing trend for Australian travellers to maximise their holidays when overseas. Its parent brand have announced the launch of a new collection of Land and River tours, to be debuted in 2027. The river cruise line aims to tap into the desire for Australians who want to view multiple countries in one trip, but who want to minimise their own planning.

The New Land and River Tours

A total of three new cruise and land tours will launch in 2027, which will be a collaboration between Globus land trips and Avalon Waterways river cruises. Between these three new tour journeys, a total of seven cruise & Tour program options will be revealed. This includes the addition of Britain and Ireland, Italy and Switzerland and Spain and France.

Avalon President Pam Hoffee said the new launch is aimed to satisfy the desire for travellers to experience multi-country destinations without having to do the planning themselves. Ms Hoffee says the itineraries minimise that complication for travellers.

“That’s exactly what a Cruise & Tour itinerary does brilliantly,” she said. “Globus handles every transfer, every hotel and every detail on land while Avalon Waterways takes care of everything on the river. What guests are left with is the best part: the freedom to be completely present for every moment of the journey, without a single logistic competing for their attention.”

Britain and Ireland

A 17-day itinerary will bring travellers to countries along the Rhine and to Britain and Ireland. The Britain and Ireland portion of the trip will be operated by Globus. Travellers will visit England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland, seeing the iconic Stonehenge, Cardiff Castle and the Bard’s Stratford-upon-Avon. While on the Rhine, guests will travel from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland.

Spain and France

The 17-day Italy and Rhine itinerary will bring travellers to the land of pizza and pasta, where they will visit the Colosseum, float down the Grand Canal in gondolas and bask in Lake Como’s beauty. On the Rhine, guests can hike the Black Forest in Germany, visit storybook Strasbourg, France, and enjoy the scenic Rhine Gorge.
