Princess package changes: Why passengers are angry

Princess Cruises has announced a revamping of its dining offerings. But while the news seems purely positive on the surface, it has left cruise passengers confused and upset.

The changes involved Princess expanding the offerings for its Princess Plus and Princess Premier Packages. But that comes at a price. The Princess package has apparently reduced the value available to those who are just paying the base fare.

Many are now raising questions, with some asking if Princess is ‘nickel and diming’ those on the ordinary fare.

Incentivising passengers to trade up is a common way for travel operators to persuade clients into more premium fares. It’s common among no-frills airlines, and many cruise lines have a huge variety of fare structures they can deploy.

Princess has introduced a new ‘casual’ dining category, that will serve three-course, fixed-price menus, for a fee of USD$14.99. These casual dining options include onboard venues Vines, Salty Dog Gastropub, O’Malleys, Ocean Terrace, and more.

While regular passengers will pay the fee, Princess Plus members will get two ‘casual dining’ meals for free. Princess Premier members will receive unlimited ‘casual dining’.

Why are customers upset?

Alfredo’s no longer free

Beloved former-complimentary restaurant Alfredo’s will now incur the USD$14.99 fee. as it’s part of ‘casual dining’. Pizza out on the deck will still be complimentary, but pizza from Gigi’s will no longer will be complimentary.

Princess Cruises’ social media forums have erupted, with hundreds of comments debating the new changes.

Terri Fromm wrote: “We have a cruise booked to Alaska next June on Majestic. My son loves Alfredos. I’m not going to pay for something that used to be free. If Princess is going to start nickel and diming me and urging me to upgrade, this will be my last cruise with the line.”

A long-time cruiser like Russell Benton sees it as another step in the slow morphing of cruising towards non-inclusive.

“When I first started cruising back in 1997 I had the run of the ship. No specialty restaurants, and no decks for only suite guests. We were all equal and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Even now, I am all for specialty restaurants where if someone wants something special you can pay and enjoy. But Alfredo’s and the Salty Dog pub are not specialty dining and should be included in the fare.

“This is simply another Princess scheme to extract money from you. It’s not about increasing perks or enhancing experience. Don’t be fooled.”

Changes to room service under Princess package

Passengers who haven’t purchased Princess Plus or Princess Premier packages will now have to pay a one-time activation fee for OceanNow on-demand food. The fee of USD$14.99 has to be paid once for guests to be able to order food to wherever they are on the ship.

Furthermore, room service will incur a USD$5 delivery fee per order. However, complimentary breakfast room service remains.

Those who have Princess Plus or Princess Premier will not have to pay the OceanNow activation fee. They will also not have to pay the delivery fee for room service.

Cruiser Michael Trapp wrote: “Cruising will end up being the airlines of the sea. Base charge for a room and fees for everything else.”

Longer cruisers feel left out

There are also complaints over the offerings of Princess Plus. Per the Princess Plus inclusions, guests receive two casual dining meals.

However, this two-meal rule applies regardless of the length of your voyage.

Cruiser Mark Anderson purchased Princess Plus felt it didn’t advantage him, as someone going on a longer cruise.

“What’s frustrating to me is that with the Plus package, I get two “free” ala carte meals at Alfredos regardless of the length of my cruise. It’s penalizing those who travel on longer voyages.

“Those longer voyages with lots of sea days are when I want to enjoy something different. There should be some type of a “reset” after 7 days.”

The move towards non-inclusive

For many cruisers, their concerns extend beyond the particular issue of Alfredo’s and room service. Rather, they are worried about the general transition of cruising towards being a less-inclusive type of holiday. They view the Princess’s changes as symbolic of this shift.

“Cruising used to be an all-inclusive vacation minus alcohol. They start by charging extra for one little thing, no biggie. Then they charge extra for something else, ok still a deal.

“Then they charge extra for more and more and more and all of a sudden one day you’re paying extra for everything. I for one am tired of getting nickeled and dimed to death. Every time you go to a store, restaurant etc, they have their hand out trying to empty your wallet.

Not everyone agrees

There are also many passengers who are saying the uproar is unnecessary. Many other cruisers feel that other lines are much worse offenders than Princess.

Linda Skirving Ashdown wrote: “Just my two cents but Princess doesn’t nickel and dime as much as other lines. We were on RCI and the drink package alone was over $90. Per day. Wifi was $20 a day and Gratuities were $16.50 per day.

“Everything is more expensive these days and companies are trying to make back the money they lost. Unfortunately, this is the way it is no point in getting worked up about it.”

Other cruises like Cheri Dubois see anything that keeps fares down as a positive.

“If Princess had to choose between raising fares for everybody or this, this is definitely the better choice!”

A Princess spokesperson told Cruise Passenger:

“Princess Cruises have introduced exciting new 3-course prix fixe meals to our popular casual dining venues. These vary by ship, but include O’Malley’s, Ocean Terrace, Vines, Alfredo’s Pizzeria, Gigi’s Pizzeria, Kai Sushi, Planks, BBQ, Steamers and Salty Dog Gastropub.

“Guests on Princess Premier and Princess Plus can now enjoy these new 3-course prix fixe meals at no additional cost. For Princess Standard guests, the casual prix fixe dining will be AU$22.45, and individual selections will be a la carte, including pizzas.”

The spokesperson added: “Don’t worry, all guests can still savor top-quality complimentary culinary options around the ship, like Slice Pizza on the Lido deck.”

  1. Two more Elites here and we have a 35 day Hawaii trip coming up. Well we aren’t even turning up to the port for this so there’s 28k down the drain. The problems with princess go far far deeper then this scam to the point where we don’t want to board. The rude staff, the anarchy of finding a table even if you’ve reserved, the crappy food. Don’t dream of a brighter future with Princess as those days are long gone.

Never looking back so goodbye Princess.

  2. Is this legal – what does Consumer Affairs think of the fact that this is not the product which we purchased? Two more elite passengers lost to Princess!

  3. We paid for our cruise and then Princess cruises changed the included items to charge item that I have already paid for in my cost of the cruise. How is this not double dipping into our pockets?
They chose to give no warning like this will start in 3 months no they just slammed the costs on the passengers?
Unfortunately all the extra tips for Princess Employees that we use to give out very generously will stop, so we can now enjoy paying for the extras we have already paid for in our cruise fare.
    Sad!!!

  4. Disgusting corporate behaviour! I am just about to leave on an Alaska cruise with Princess. My very first cruise was in 2004 on the Golden Princess with my friend, but due to mostly cruising single, Princess was not a consideration due to their 100% Single Supplement policy, which of course would double my costs.
Then after a lovely Cunard cruise, I saw this cruise for only 20% single supplement, so I went for it. For a number of reasons, I wish I hadn’t.
Compared to my recent bookings with Cunard, Holland America, Celebrity, and Norwegian, trying to resolve Princess issues was a total pain, with me waiting to speak to someone numerous times. First off, it took several weeks in order for them to find out that I was a repeat customer; then it took them forever to assign me a cabin which of course was in the worst location; and then there was the dining room booking issue. Dining booking requires that you use a medallion app. I don’t have a medallion, but I found out that I should be able to use the web version; but on multiple occasions, that didn’t work. It seems obvious that Princess doesn’t have enough people on staff who know anything, since on a couple of occasions, I had to wait for over a half hour, only to be shunted off to another department along with another half hour wait.
It has taken me more time to resolve this Princess cruise issues as all of the previous cruise bookings that I have made. Terrible service and being told one thing only to find out that another person gave me conflicting information!
Then I found out that Princess has come up with this huge money grab. As far as I am concerned, there should be a class action lawsuit aimed at Princess, since when many of us booked, Princess had one set of rules, and now they have unilaterally changed the rules. These are not ethical business practices! But my guess is that in amongst their legal “rules”, they have made it clear that they can do just about anything to Princess passengers and get away with it.
Well, in my case, this will definitely be my last Princess voyage. I have let many friends and family know what Princess has done, and these people have thanked me for letting them know, and they won’t be using Princess again either. In my case, I aim to enjoy this last Princess cruise as well as I can, but I will NOT be spending anything more than I was going to before all of this hassle. The “Love Boat” sure seems to have hit rock bottom!

  5. We’re elite,my just turned 6 year old will be platinum in our upcoming cruise and my 3 year old ruby. Room service, middle of the road dining options that aren’t buffet or the dining room… these things make it appealing to cruise with our kiddos still. Also that fact that we booked one cruise with services offered for free but are now getting another where we need to pay extra for things like room service doesn’t sit well. We’ll stick to other modes of travel going forward when looking for a sunbreak or explore other lines. Too bad, the kids were already starting to develop positive brand recognition and the grandparents (also both elite) will often travel where we go!

  6. Sleazy car salesman trick – that is how I feel after 30 cruises with Princess. I have 3 cruises booked with Princess over the next 18 months, but I am currently looking at other cruise lines to see if I can find similar itineraries and then I will cancel my Princess cruises. I do not understand how they are ok with changing what is offered after cruises are booked. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER RETENTION.

Disgusted, disappointed, and upset like many other Princess faithful. I am not a big drinker, so an alcohol package is a total waste of money since I already get a free mini-bar with my Elite status (I suppose this will stop before long as a “cost cutting” measure).. I get 1/2 off my internet package with my Elite status. We used to get free internet as an Elite and look for Princess to discontinue our discount as another “cost cutting” measure. I do enjoy some of the restaurants that will now have a charge, but I will not pay to visit them. I do love using room service and always tip VERY well. I will continue to use the breakfast door hanger that is still free, but will not pay $5 for room service other times of the day. I would not eat extra desserts and exercise classes do not interest me since I walk on the treadmill every day in the gym.

Other countries do not get their medallions mailed to them for free before the cruise, so I will not mind paying $10 to have mine mailed to me, so I can get on the ship quicker.

  7. They just lost another Elite customer. I’m booked on a 110 day cruise With Princess next May and only get to use Alfredo’s twice for free. poor show Princess

  8. I am shocked at what I am hearing. I love travelling with Princess and was shocked when the WiFi minutes were taken away. We did purchase the Princess Plus package on our last two cruises and were satisfied with those. The drinks package is way too much for us, but we do indulge in cocktails and specialty coffee, so that is okay. Now Princess has increased the price of the Plus and has included two specialty desserts and two fitness classes. I definitely do not want more desserts. There are so many to choose from and fitness classes are for when you are at home and not on vacation. Judging from the comments here, Princess is charging for many choices which were included in the fare before. I understand that fares have also gone up and that happens, but all these extras are making people think twice about using Princess. Where is the loyalty Princess? It is disgusting for those passengers who have paid in full and booked months ago to find that they are being charged extra. For some, it is too late to cancel and they haven’t any choice but to pay. Definitely, this is not fair! Maybe, it is time to give the fully-inclusive hotels a go.

  9. Elite on Oceania, Princess and Celebrity. These changes will eliminate any of our future reservations going to Princess. The buffet food is generally terrible and the deserts are worse. Now taken away Gigi…forget about it. Very foolish on their part since the service has already deteriorated. Too bad!

  10. This totally morally wrong for customers who have already paid in full i emailed the guy who changed it with no thought for existing bookings [email protected] let him know you are not happy with bring lowballed and ripped off sold something that disappears.

  11. Princess has the right to change its packages and people can decide if they want to sail with Princess. My issue is that they are asking people to upgrade that have already paid for their cruise already. I booked and paid my money and now they want a “nominal” fee to get me to upgrade to the new package for $10. That’s 10 dollars a day per person which will work out to a $140 for something I already paid for. When I booked, there were no restrictions on their casual dining or limit on their desserts. I need to spend $140 to get less than what I had when I booked originally? This should be grandfathered in, they should have given everyone that had Princess plus the new package rather than trying to shake us down for money after the fact. I am afraid that I am going to get on board and find out the price of the cruise went up and I need to pay more money since Princess does not honor their contracts. I am very disappointed and the whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth. There customer service is just towing the company policy and there has been no effort to make the situation whole. Princess trying to sell this as an upgrade is and insult to the cruiser’s intelligence. I am an avid cruiser and I will be more discerning with my next cruise but I really do not think Princess cares if they lose me, they would rather get an additional 140 dollars out of me prior to the cruise now and I am not paying for something I already paid for.

  12. Disgraceful behaviour and no way to treat your customers fair enough if you want to make these changes going forward but honour what you promised at the point of sale. Very shortsighted I and my parents will definitely think twice before cruising with Princess again.

  13. Hi,I am a Elite passenger and after my next 3 booked cruises Ishant be using Princess again. How dare they start changing for items which were previously included in fare structure.
Really disappointing.Be looking at other than Carnival Pic may have been decent to advise us about mean changes before we booked. The moral and decent thing to do is to bring in the charges afteradvertising
Them and leaving prior bookings on the previous food charges structure.

  14. Hi,I am a Elite passenger and after my next 3 booked cruises Ishant be using Princess again. How dare they start changing for items which were previously included in fare structure.
Really disappointing.Be looking at other than Carnival Pic

  15. I see quite a few “wine” drinkers here. In stead of winning just don’t book anymore cruises. You will find most companies have up’d prices after covid trying to make up lost revenue. If you like to cruise just book it and enjoy. Life is too short and no one will be shoveling that money in the ground with you.

  16. I have been a loyal princess cruiser since 2011 and I’m so disgusted with them that my next cruise is coming up will be my last. I take the standard fee because I don’t drink alcohol. I don’t drink the specialty coffees and I don’t use the Wi-Fi on the ship which is spotty at best and now I have to pay all these extra fees which I was never advised of. I never received an email. I learned of it on our cruising website and this was done 7 weeks after I had paid for my cruise in full and is for the food on the ship’s lately. It’s not worth paying for our cruise back from New Zealand half the food they didn’t have which was on the menu and what they did have. Two meals I sent back because they weren’t even cooked all the way so princess is definitely gone downhill

  17. There is a way to get back at Princess for trying to take money from our wallets. Don’t buy the drink package. As far as I know you can still bring on board one bottle of wine per person. Skip the wifi. Don’t tip. It is not mandatory.

  18. I am very disappointed with these changes. The 3 packages are there to enable passengers to select the option which suits them the best.

I heard that these changes are effective this month and feel that it is unfair that people who booked prior to August don’t have a choice. I feel that if changes are enforced then we should be informed in advance for example – any new bookings from 1st October 2024 will incur these extra costs.

Any paid holidays should be honoured. It is the principal – why should existing bookings be penalised?

    Disappointed cruiser.

  19. Re Princess Set Price Menu. Not impressed. Some things are left best alone. This is some idea by a team of marketing, wet behind the ears group, who tinker while on their smart phones.
I am A REGULAR CRUISER (elite) NOT HAPPY!

  20. Reducing your gratuities by the extra costs seems a fair response. Read geir contract. Gratuities are not a obligation. The overall cost isnt much but the message it sends is worse. Whats next?

  21. I find it all disappointing. It is not only the increase in prices or the additional pricing, it’s what has been taken from the loyalty program too. There was free minutes on a cruise once you were elite (maybe platinum too, I can’t remember). We have been on invited to 3 Captain’s Circle cocktail parties on this current cruise and been told how much our loyalty is valued at 2 of them (3rd one is this week). I cannot correlate removing loyalty benefits with valuing the loyalty.

I am assuming this will apply in Australia too. None of the restaurants mentioned are on the Australian ships, to my knowledge.

Whilst I am airing my grievances, I am bemused by the insistence on my buying an alcohol package because my husband does. He drinks alcohol and I don’t, this rule clearly thinks partners will cheat and we can’t be trusted not to “steal” something I’m not entitled to have. I must admit, I have heard that other ships also have the same rule but that doesn’t make it acceptable.

My last issue is the way I was told, by the photography department, that I could no longer buy a package of stock photos as they were free for the Premier Drinks Package. So he told me to go and buy one. When I told him I didn’t drink, he told me to buy it or miss out. This will be reported to Princess, when I get the survey at the end of the cruise.

I must say that the staff from the cabin stewards to the officers are exceptional as always. One franchise member not so much

  22. One would expect these changes to apply to new bookings only, however I doubt that is the case. My first Princess cruise is coming up in December 2023 and I have booked the base fare, not the enhanced Princess Plus or Princess Premier packages, which offer absolutely no benefit to my wife and I being non-drinkers and we are not interested in utilising wifi. We cruise to have a break and rest. Downgrading the base fare is completely irresponsible and a “Kick in the guts” for passengers like myself who do not want the extras.

  23. Do these changes apply to the pre booked cruises? If so, it’s a possibility that we will forego our deposit and cancel. It’s time to look for other options.

  24. We used to be rewarded with princess for how many cruises we did. We got extra bonuses or free once. we used to get free Wi-Fi now we have to pay. Will used to get food and drinks delivered to us now we have to pay a one off fee of AU$22. Why give us the freebies then charge us later on not happy about any of it. I am a non-drinker so I don’t want to pay $90 a day for a drink package that I won’t drink. Not happy Jan

  25. We are both Princess elite passengers , we have two future cruises booked, one very soon .We are both disappointed with the gradual erosion of our elite status ,looks like loyalty has gone .We will be open minded and judge the next cruise for ourselves. If extra costs and charges occur like the WiFi ,it will not take much to change our minds. We already feel the food Qualty has slid some what . Most of our cruises have been with Princess even though it is dearer than most,we accept this as we felt it was a little better than some. One thing I dont like is penny pinching ,if this occurs ,be up front and say why.We really hope all is good.

  26. Well this is a revelation but not unexpected by these greedy cruise lines. The airlines are doing the same, pay for everything so our caravan will get a lot more use. It is a shame the greed of these particular industries but I guess while people go and pay, nothing will change. I’m glad we have read your article, we will ask more question IF we cruise again.

  27. Robyn
As an elite passenger I am starting to look at other cruise lines. I don’t like the way Princess is moviing towards “pay as you go”.
I have always recommended Princess to my friends because of the inclusions. If they cease I’ll nolonger be recommending Princess.

  28. Only done five cruises and lost weight on all. Buffet food fine. Formal?? well I woz brung up to eat everything on the plate.Buffet with pick and choose and come back if still hungry suits me best. BUT if these are to be charged for, arriving an hour after opening, will there be anything left? I can see those who want ‘their money’s worth.’ Those that are at the gate at starting time and staying for the duration like locusts clearing a field, stripping all before I arrive.

  29. Always travelled Princess but will rethink this in the future, Why can’t I have a cruise without all the extra costs make a reasonable priced holiday ultra expensive.

  30. As a long term royal Caribbean cruise we decided to take a trip on the crown Princess earlier this year in Alaska. We were amazed at the lack of quality in the Princess cruise food and range. These extra charges just further reiterate why we won’t be going with Princess again. We found the best fit was the room service pizza which is a reflection on how Princess food standards have dropped. To say Alfredo’s and salty dog are speciality is a disgrace. They are just pub food like burger and fries or spaghetti bklignajse.

  31. Hi all,
We go on a cruise because the sea enthralls us and costs are always on ships regardless whether its gratuities,or specialised restaurants laundry free on some if you have attained elite status on The Princess Line.Alot of other ships don’t have a laundry to go and do your washing, or give you a free complimentary range of miniatures in various liquors etc, if you have attained Elite as it is on Princess. If you choose to have luxury and 5 to 6 star service which isn’t on Princess you pay for it and it is all exclusive in wine dining,Gratuities and extreme pampering aside from spa hair salon shops is a cost. You aren’t a no and they make you feel great. I am elite on Princess line and cabin for me is a balcony or a mini suite .I am just an ordinary person a worker and save for holidays of luxury or a simple trip to New Zealand ,long voyages to remote places like Antartica,Greenland Iceland and covered a fair bit of the world. I could moan about a few things lousy coffee on ships till they brought in the coffee club and have real coffee and teas .and arrange of snacks. If a charge is made so be it as I am here to have a nice holiday and so many ships to choose from if you can afford them and what they offer. Cruising is affordable if you like an inside cabin which is not my preference. Some have Anniversaries and offer great specials Before you go on a ship check out the crew nationality ,ship, how many passengers on board. How new it is and rules and regulations and what’s available .There’s no cost for that and if you don’t like the ships new rules and regulations I’m sure there be one ship to suit most tastes. Travel insurance is a must these days.Cheers

  32. This new idea is ridiculous. I have done so many cruises, with 90% of meals being inclusive and free. Free meals have been universal up until now. You won’t find me on any of these extra charges for meals-ships.

  33. As an Elite Princess passenger, I am appalled that they have made these changes. We hardly ever travel on Princess as it is always so much dearer and very few cruises leave from Brisbane.

  34. Princess annoyed me in April when I discovered our Elite membership status no longer gave us free WiFi. The price was discounted but would still cost over $250 each. Appears the company is becoming far too greedy!

  35. WE had the Princess Drinks package for our 5wk Hawaii trip earlier this year, that did not have any speciality dining options included.
I already don’t think the drinks package is worth while anyway, even having 3 specialty coffees, drinks at lunch, pre-dinner, dinner & after dinner drinks we still struggled to get anywhere near the daily cost, the untrained staff struggling to use the new ordering system did not help.
The speciality dining, especially pizza & burgers don’t interest me so wouldn’t want the price to rise so we could get a couple of those.
We had numerous snacks, drinks etc delivered to to our room, there was no cost for that, we assumed they preferred to do that to help control the spread of & COVID & help social distancing.
My biggest beef though was the tea, there was only the cheap black tea, lemon, peppermint & camomile tea available, no English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea, that for me is a deal breaker.
We have 3 cruises booked for next year (3 different lines), the per day rate on Princess is now way more than the others mid range lines, even Cunard have better offers.

  36. We have been cruising with Princess for several years but, with the exorbitant cost of travel insurance due to age and pre-existing conditions, (Princess insurance only available in America)and now extra costs on Princess ships, our cruising days are numbered. I expect it will be the same for many cruisers.

  37. I am an Elite member and therefore have a significant relationship with Princess. The dining changes are unacceptable to me and can see Princess moving towards the P&O model. My expectation is above that tight fisted approach so the end of the next two booked cruises will probably be the last River cruises still seem to be retaining their value

  38. Not happy that we are being charged at these basic restaurants.
Hopefully the food is worth the extra payment.
Heres hoping my package includes the restaurant.

  39. I agree with another comment that passengers with the Plus package on longer voyages should have more that 2 visits included, as someone on a 5 day cruise say gets exactly the same.

  40. Your article and some of the responses to me don’t ring true for what we are getting in Australia. Maybe you could do another article just for Australia and show us what we are really getting say.. for a domestic cruise out of Brisbane.

The Northern Hemisphere gets ALL the new ships. Australia gets the old ones that are on their last stop before heading off for sale.
So.. the updated packages would be suiting the Northern Hemisphere passengers very nicely. Whilst down under…. Note: the “upgrades” are across the Princess line.

Well.. we have the Coral. Let’s look at that one….

Deck 7 has Bayou Cafe and Sabatini’s. Always had to pay for a meal here. Still do.
Deck 6 has International Cafe. Still on the “free list”
Deck 10 has Bar & Grill (hamburger stand!) Still on the “free list”
Deck 14 has Ice Cream Bar… still free for a plain old soft serve.
Deck 14 has Princess Pizzeria… still free by the slice but not by choice. You have what is available. Still on “free list”.

So where do we get our two free US$14.99 3 course prix fixe meal from? All those eateries on the list are not here. And according to the Princess website deck plan, there is no Vines.

At THIS moment in time, our Medallions are still pick up at the port, though I do believe this may be changing but when?

You now only get in the Green Lane if you meet certain criteria which includes having purchased a package AND having the medallion mailed to your home address pre boarding. DOES THIS MEAN EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA WILL BE IN THE BLUE LANE?

Apart from getting up to 16 alcoholic drinks everyday (what happened to responsible serving?) for cheap, what are you really getting? They obviously don’t want cruisers who are non alcohol drinkers.

US$7.50 for a call to Room Service. So if I want Housekeeping for a robe or more towels, will it cost me US$7.50 if I don’t get the package?

Let’s have a follow up article please based on a ship home ported in Australia and a domestic cruise. May be a comment from someone at Princess in Australia to explain what the Australians are getting. And they keep telling us that Australia is the biggest growing market in cruising.

  41. I’m angry . Princess was good in times gone by. Elite was worth something , then wifi was removed……beginning of the end. Will not cruise with Princess again after our 26 day trip in March 24. , which we are committed too due to covid credits. We have done over 20 cruises with Princess and they have been going downhill rapidly since Covid.

  42. I can see what Princess are trying to do by giving set levels of cruising whereby us, the passenger, have a choice of what level we would like or can afford. I must admit that as a long time cruiser 1970 onwards, the scene has definitely changed, as it should with the progressive nature of cruising and the state of the art ships, but it does appear confusing.
It is the NEW marketing strategy however us ol timers are obviously being left behind with this strategy. I really do not want to have to read screeds of words trying to decide or clarify what I want or need just to have a leisurely cruise. Better market advice would be of use Princess.

  43. My husband and I do not drink alcohol for medical reasons (not just choice), the plus package is of no value to us. As elite members we are already penailised by having to pay for wifi and other extras that used to be attractive loyalty bonuses. Sorry Princess, we will be seriously considering other cruise lines with benefits that suit us without premiums.

  44. Shameful! They are trying to retroactively deny access to meal options advertised as free. Unfair for clients who paid in full before the announced changes.

Yet they are refusing to refund fares without penalty for clients who don’t want to accept the changes
