Princess Cruises announces Caribbean and Panama Canal sailings for 2020/21
NewsPrincess Cruises unveils voyages for the Caribbean and Panama Canal from autumn 2020 to spring 2021.
The Caribbean and Panama Canal will each have five ships sailing their waters, including two of the newest and youngest ships, Enchanted and Sky Princess.
“We take more guests through the Panama Canal each year than any other cruise line and we’re also the only line to offer a full season of voyages from the northern autumn through to spring, which is the best time to experience this tropical climate,” said Nick Ferguson, Princess Cruises Sales and Marketing Director.
“Our upcoming 2020-21 season offers many options for our guests to experience this bucket-list destination – a place best seen from a cruise ship.”
Short cruises starting from four days can be found in the Caribbean but sailings can go up to 20-days in both destinations.
The cruises are open for sale from May 9, 2019.
Caribbean
The Caribbean will offer 127 departures to 24 destinations in 20 countries in the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean, ranging from four to 20-day sailings.
Princess Cruises will be bringing guests to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Belize Barrier Reef System, The Pitons Volcanic Spires in St. Lucia and historical Bridgetown in Barbados.
The line will also be offering late-night calls at five ports: St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Cozumel, Aruba and Curacao.
Princess’ Caribbean fleet will feature four MedallionClass ships Caribbean Princess, Crown Princess, Enchanted Princess, and Sky Princess.
The newest ship in Princess’ Caribbean fleet will be Enchanted Princess as she sails to the Caribbean following her launch in Southampton in June 2020.
The 3,660-guest ship will be departing on alternating seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from November 2020 to April 2021.
The sister ship, Sky Princess, launching in October 2019, will sail for the first time on a 10-day Southern Caribbean Voyager itinerary, which can be combined for a 20-day Caribbean Explorer cruise.
Guests can choose from 17 Sky Princess voyages from November 5, 2020 to March 30, 2021.
Festive sailings will take place over the Christmas and New Year period on Caribbean Princess, Enchanted Princess, Island Princess and Sky Princess.
Panama Canal
Princess Cruises will be offering 30 departures, visiting a total of 23 destinations in 11 countries on the Panama Canal.
Guests can choose from three ways to experience the locks of the canal – roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, roundtrip from Los Angeles or sailing between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
The nine itineraries offered range from 10 to 21 days, sailing on ships like Crown, Emerald, Coral and Pacific Princess.
Crown Princess and Emerald Princess will sail through the new Agua Clara Locks, offering partial canal transits from the Atlantic Ocean roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale with Costa Rica and Caribbean voyages.
Emerald Princess and Coral Princess will offer full canal transits on ‘Ocean to Ocean’ voyages sailing between Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles, San Francisco or a new homeport of San Diego.
In addition, the 670-guest Pacific Princess is scheduled to sail on a 15-day Panama Canal Connoisseur from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles for a small ship transit via the canal’s traditional locks.
