Viking will launch its second ship in Southeast Asia when its newest river ship Viking Tonle sails the mighty Mekong River.
Viking Tonle will offer 15-day Magnificent Mekong itineraries when she joins sister ship, Viking Saigon, on the Mekong River. Accommodating 80 guests in 40 staterooms, the three-deck ship will have a pool, spa and fitness centre as well as an open-air Sky Bar on the Upper Deck.
“Our guests are thinking people who value learning through travel, and the rich history and traditions of Vietnam and Cambodia make this region especially compelling,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking. “We are pleased that the addition of the Viking Tonle to our fleet allows us to welcome even more curious travellers to the Mekong River and the cultural treasures of Southeast Asia.”
Guests will spend some time discovering Hanoi, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, and Phnom Penh before boarding Viking Tonle to cruise the Mekong River and visit Tan Chau, Sa Dec and Cai Be, where they will disembark and be taken to Ho Chi Minh City.
Viking will take delivery of another 25 new river ships by 2028, taking its total fleet of river ships to 112. Viking will also add 10 additional ocean ships by 2031, bringing its total fleet of ocean ships to 23.
