Viking has continued a year of good news, being voted both Best Ocean Line and Best River Line by Conde Nast Traveller in their readers choice awards. Viking took out both of these honours for the second year in a row, with more than 240,000 Conde Nast Traveller submitting their votes.

Viking was also recently named best ocean and river line by Travel + Leisure, becoming the first cruise line to top both categories in both publications in the same year.

Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking: “We are honored to have once again been named Condé Nast Traveler‘s #1 river and #1 ocean line. These new awards, along with being voted to the top by Travel + Leisure, showcase our team’s hard work and encourage us to continue delivering the meaningful travel experiences that set us apart.

“Thank you to our guests and the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. They say when you reach the top, there is only one way to go – we say that way is onwards.”

This award keeps the momentum going for Viking, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary among other milestones. Viking also launched Viking Expeditions in January, with Viking Octanis and Viking Polaris now leading the new fleet.

Furthermore, Viking has added eight new vessels to its river fleet, across not just Europe but also purpose built ships for the Nile, Mekong and Mississippi rivers. They’ve also bolstered their ocean fleet with Viking Mars coming into operation this year and Viking Neptune soon to join.
