Viking and Fincantieri have signed contracts for two of six new ships to be delivered in 2024 and 2025.
The new ships will have a similar design to their current fleet with the inclusion of “latest available technologies”.
Their existing ocean fleet feature all-balcony staterooms, a gross tonnage of about 47,800 tons with accommodation for 930 passengers in 465 cabins.
“Fincantieri will develop an advanced project based on the successful characteristics of the previous ships, upgraded and revisited in line with the latest available technologies,” says the Italian shipyard in the statement.
The two ships are part of the agreement announced in March last year for the construction of six ships, with deliveries expected up till 2027.
Viking’s sixth vessel, Viking Jupiter, was just delivered last month and is currently sailing the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
The line’s seventh and eighth ship, Viking Venus and Viking Tellus, are scheduled to launch in 2021.

Now you want to charge extra and to top it off I feel people are being belittling, pigeon whole, those people who find the love in food, will not have to pay more. Be judged and don’t think that not going to happen.. Sorry Mam or Sir if you want more you have to pay….. And what you may think is just be another $10 is more expensive in eg. AUS being $13 Dollars… I personally find this very distasteful… I will rethink ever coming aboard your cruise lines. Shame on you. You need to rethink this. I am disgusted.
