MSC Cruises announced it would be using Wollongong as a turnaround port for the new 2020 MSC Magnifica world cruise.
The Cruise Wollongong chair Councillor Leigh Colacino and the Destination Wollongong Chair, Colin Bloomfield made the announcement earlier this month.
The ship which was launched in 2009, has the capacity for 3,605 passengers and it will be the largest ship to ever visit Port Kembla when it docks on March 17, 2020.
Wollongong will join cities like Sydney, Mumbai, Papeete, Buenos Aires, Rio and Barcelona along MSC Magnifica’s world voyage.
