Silversea has taken delivery of  Silver Origin, a ship specifically designed for the delicate but beautiful environment of the Galapagos Islands.

The luxury line has also announced an exciting lineup of 86 new voyages in 2021 and 2022 – including two ships sailing 12 deeper and more immersive Australasian itineraries. Journeys in Asia are also being stepped up.

In a ceremony in keeping with the times, Silversea’s top management team including Silversea’s president and CEO Roberto Martinoli presided over a low key launch of the 100-guest vessel, which features all-suite accommodation with butler service.

The delivery of Silver Origin, follows the remotely-operated sea trial of the ship last month. In a world-first, the line managed to test Silver Origin’s “dynamic positioning” without dropping anchor which was remotely tuned and calibrated by a third party in St Petersburg, Russia about 1800 km away.

The ship has two restaurants with Ecuadorian inspired cuisine, a fire-pit in the Explorer Lounge, an interactive basecamp and eight zodiacs. She will also be plastic-free with each guest supplied with a metallic reusable bottle.

Prices of a seven-day itinerary on Silver Origin from Baltra to San Cristobal and vice versa departing on 5 September this year start from $15,120 per person with free economy flights and 10 per cent early booking bonus.

Meanwhile, for the first time, two of the line’s luxury ships, Silver Shadow and Silver Muse will cruise in Australian waters from October 2021 to April 2022.
