Luxury boutique line Silversea has introduced new fares to lure holiday makers looking to pay for the voyage only, stripping out flights, transfers and shore excursions.

This new Essential fare is a departure from the line’s usual offer of door-to-door all-inclusive fares. It is only available on select voyages/expeditions. It will include onboard food and beverages, as well as butler service but no shore excursions. Guests will have to book their own flights, transfers and pay for their excursions. Deposits for Essential fares are also non-refundable.

Silversea has also tweaked its offers to include an “enhanced” port-to-port all-inclusive fare which includes shore excursions without flights and transfers. This option is available on the line’s 308 expedition cruises and 875 itineraries in the Mediterranean, South America and Asia.

Luxury of choice

Silversea says it is “offering travelers the luxury of choice.”

“We believe choice is at the heart of true luxury,” says Roberto Verdino, Silversea’s Senior Vice President of Revenue Management.

“Enjoying a more customized range of pricing options, guests can tailor their experience by opting for our Door-to-Door, Port-to-Port or Essential fare while still benefitting from the superlative service and other hallmarks of luxury that they have come to expect from Silversea.”

What’s the difference?

Most Silversea’s loyal customers will continue to choose its popular all-inclusive fare which starts and ends at the guests’ home. Moreover, the door-to-door all-inclusive fare will include private executive transfers between home and airport, business class upgrades at reduced rates and shore excursions.

Meanwhile, the voyage-only Essential fare is likely to attract those new to brand and new to cruising. While it has stricter terms and conditions, the “time-sensitive Essential fare does not include shore excursions on ocean-going voyages but will include shore excursions, expedition gear and charter flights when booked for expedition voyages,” the line says.

Silversea’s new Essential fare, door-to-door and port-to-port fares are available on the following voyages including:

• Seward to Vancouver, May 16-23, 2024 onboard Silver Nova to discover Alaska with prices starting from $5500pp for Essential fare; $7600pp for Port-to-Port fare and $10,400pp for Door-to-Door.
• Reykjavik to Churchill, Manitoba, June 29-July 15, 2024 onboard Silver Endeavour to explore Greenland, fjords and Canada with prices starting from $19,850pp for Essential fare, $32,700pp for Port-to-Port and $35,600pp for Door-to-Door.
• Athens to Venice, July 19-30, 2024 onboard Silver Ray to discover Adriatic’s fabulous treasures from Athens to Santorini with prices starting from $12,900pp for Port-to-Port fare and $15,400pp for Door-to-Door.
