Scenic elevates included luxury with helicopter flightseeing and private jets

Scenic is offering more luxury and excitement with included helicopter flightseeing on voyages in 2027/29.

  • There will be complimentary 20-minute helicopter rides over many destinations and 30-minute flights over Antarctica.
  • Guests booking premium suites will be offered private jet flights between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia on Antarctica itineraries.
  • There will also be heli golf at Sicily’s Verdura Resort or guests offered truffle hunt at Karlic Truffles in Croatia.

Scenic will offer free helicopter flightseeing rides and private jets for passengers sailing on the company’s luxury Discovery Yacht fleet.

The heli-flights will be avaiable on voyages in 2027/29 with a 20-minute flight over many destinations and a 30-minute flight over Antarctica.

Scenic Discovery Yachts will also include more perks for guests who book the 2028/29 season across the Panorama, Grand Panorama, Scenic Yacht Suite, Grand Terrace, Owner’s Penthouse and Ikon Penthouse suite categories.

The extra perks include:

* Private jet flights between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia on the Antarctica Peninsula voyages.

* Helicopter landing excursions for Owner’s Penthouse and Ikon Penthouse guests playing golf at Sicily’s Verdura Resort and France’s Terre Blanche, celebrated vineyards or truffle hunting at Karlic Truffles in Croatia. In Antarctica, there will be helicopter landings when guests visit Snow Hill Island to see the Emperor penguin colony, East Antarctica McMurdo Dry Valleys, the Ross Sea Ice Shelf and into the heart of Patagonia.

* Exclusive Scenic Discovery excursions in expedition and Discovery Voyages such as a private polar glacier landing accompanied by an expedition leader.

* A private half-day excursion with a personal guide on Signature Yacht Cruise in Europe, the Americas and New Zealand with after-hours museum visits, exclusive culinary experiences with local chefs and tailored cultural exhibitions.

Scenic Discovery Yachts include Scenic Eclipse, Scenic Eclipse II and Scenic Ikon which will launch in 2028.

“By including helicopter flightseeing experiences, we are quite literally elevating ultra-luxury discovery, giving guests perspectives that few travellers will ever experience by making these life-changing moments part of the extensive inclusion already provided and our guests’ personal stories for life,” said Jason Flesher, Scenic Group Director of Discovery Operations. “We know from guests’ feedback that a helicopter flightseeing experience can reframe a journey.”

Scenic Ikon is launching in April 2028, from Venice. She is the third in Scenic’s ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht series and she is designed as a larger sister ship to the Eclipse fleet.

Ikon accommodates 270 guests across 135 all-verandah suites. The vessel boasts 15 dining venues, a massive two-level spa, and premium expedition equipment.

She is a Polar Code 6 Ice Class 1A Super hull vessel for navigating both warm-water destinations and polar regions. She is equipped with two Airbus H130 helicopters, a custom Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, and luxury Fassmer tenders.

For those who prefer a more relaxed expereince, she has a 1,700-square-meter Senses Rejuvenation Spa that spans two decks and includes hydrotherapy and thermal experiences.

She will sail the Mediterranean, Aegean, Egypt, Cape Verde, Dakar, Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, and the Chilean Fjords.
