Princess Cruises welcomes Australia’s first new ship of the summer cruise season with the arrival of Ruby Princess this morning.
Michelin-starred chef Curtis Stone welcomed Ruby Princess to her new Sydney homeport by using his Princess OceanMedallion to activate a spectacular ruby red fireworks display as the ship entered the harbour.
Ruby Princess will be the first MedallionClass ship homeported in Australia and she will also feature a new six-course fine dining menu designed by Chef Stone for his onboard restaurant SHARE. The ship is one of two ships sailing in local waters to have SHARE on board.
The 3,080-guest Grand-class ship will be activated with MedallionClass on January 27, 2020. She was also last refurbished in October 2018 in an $8.2 million dry dock to offer more dining venues such as The Salty Dog Grill and Slice pizzeria.
She is the line’s sixth MedallionClass ship after: Caribbean, Crown, Regal, Royal and the most recent Sky Princess.
Ruby Princess joins Majestic Princess cruising 444 cruise days out of Sydney, generating a combined landmark capacity of over 100,000 guests.
The ship will depart Sydney this afternoon on a 10-night cruise to Brisbane.
I agree with Mr Collins we had the same experience cold food and high priced drinks disgraceful,
We have Cruses quite a bit with Princess and we have been really happy with each cruse. We have Cruses Norwegian, Holland American , P& O, carnival , and just got back from a cruse with Explore Dream , We still prefer princess and we are crusing to NZ on the Ruby Princess and looking forward to having Christmas on it .
went on sea princess in march around oz we couldnt fault it service was fantastic cant wait to go on it again
I have booked November cruise to Port Douglas 2020 from the Landmark Sale brochure sent to me,and was disappointed to not get
the discount fare of $1969 which in the brochure said offer ends 12th DECEMBER 2019. Myself and my friend had to pay $2069 and
we put deposit down on Tuesday 22nd October well before 12th December, when offer ends.I was very disappointed being a Captains Circle member. Resta Urban.
My husband, friends, and I have booked a Fiji/South Pacific cruise departing 13th of January. A shame we don’t qualify for Medallion class. Also as pensioners, it takes a while to save up to pay for any cruise. We find the service amazing and love every cruise we have been on with the Princess. The staff work under difficult conditions with long hours and homesickness, they are so accommodating. Food is plentiful with many choices, good value for money, all included in your fare. A shame some people complain. We don’t drink alcohol, and there are other drink options. I don’t mind P&O, you get what you pay for, obviously they are a bit cheaper, ideal for Pensioners. What an amazing experience sailing the big blue ocean. Love it! Even if you stayed on board the cruise is the holiday.
So looking forward to our tango cruise abroad the Ruby Princess in December .Great group of passionate tango dancers sailing the Pacific .
My wife and I just cruised on Sea Princess and it was our 6th. Cruise. It was at best ordinary.
Food was cold. Drinks were too expensive to buy. Drinks packages were around $90 per day , I’m not sure I could drink that much for 19 days. If you’re not an elite or suite guest you are treated like a 2nd. Class citizen.
Never again especially on Princess or P&O
Bet nobody sees this comment.
Congratulations Princess, I agree Princess is the best overall cruise line, from my experience not sure how P&O got best at anything.
We are about to join this ship on November 16th from Singapore to Sydney
,SHE looks good as this is our 46th cruise and looking forward to getting on board,we have the drink package witch we purchased ages ago as it is cheaper to buy it from the cruise company against buying it on board as you save a lot of money,we are on deck 6 balcony, only way to travel,so we will see you on board
Thoroughly agree with what has been decided re winners, etc.
