Regent Seven Seas Explorer is heading to Alaska as the Alaska cruising season kicks in.

Regent Seven Seas Explorer is heading to Alaska as the Alaska cruising season kicks in.

The 746-guest Explorer is offering a nine-night voyage from Vancouver to Seattle departing on 9 September which will include up to 67 shore excursions. Prices start from $11,670 pp for a deluxe veranda suite.

Explorer will cruise the Inside Passage before calling at Ketchikan, popularly known as the Salmon Capital of the World. Guests can choose to go on an Alaskan fishing excursion where they will be taken to a secluded spot to fish for different Alaskan bottom fish species. The fish they catch will then be served in a saffron-infused bouillabaisse with warm sour dough bread.

Guests can also choose to go on a cruise on the George Inlet and dine on freshly caught Dungeness crabs at the historic George Inlet waterfront lodge. They will also learn what is the easiest way to crack crabs.

For adventure seekers, they can go on a Knudson Cove salmon sportfishing where they can try their luck fishing in crystal-clear waters teeming with salmon while enjoying the stunning backdrop of glacier-carved bays and fjords.

The next day, Explorer will visit Juneau renowned for its gold prospecting at the mouth of Gold Creek. Over the years, more than $150 million in gold was mined.

At Juneau which is only accessible by air or sea, guests can choose to go on a variety of excursions including a visit to Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument, a wilderness area which was hit by a massive earthquake in 1980 which triggered an avalanche. Learn how the landscape has been reshaped and replanted.

Guests can also visit film locations in Astoria where at least 10 major motion pictures were shot. Movies include Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy, Benji, The Ring 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III.

Explorer will also visit Skagway, Icy Strait, Klawock, Victoria before the final stop at Seattle.

Explorer will also offer a 12-night itinerary from Seattle to Seattle departing on 18 September 2026 with prices starting from $14,200pp.

The ship will visit Klawock, a pioneer town on the rugged coast of Prince of Wales Island. One of the highlights is the salmon-rich Klawock River which attracts brown bears to the water. Guests can go on a wildlife tour to see whales and sea otters in the open seas.

Explorer will then visit Sitka, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.
