Cruise Passenger’s Readers’ Choice Awards are in full swing. And with almost one third of the votes cast, there are close fights across the board for the key categories.

The 2017 awards attracted a record 9,200 votes. This year, we’re already at around 3,000 votes counted and climbing. With such close results, your vote is even more essential. So vote now!

The hotly contested Best Cruise Line Overall is seeing an amazing tussle for top spot between Princess Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean – a repeat of the finalists last year, when Princess nudged ahead.

The line will be hoping for a flood of extra votes as anticipation rises for the arrival of the Majestic Princess for her first season later this year – the newest and biggest Princess to hit Australia’s shores.

In the luxury sector, a new entrant is hanging on to the top spot. French small ship operator PONANT is nudging ahead of last year’s winner Silversea, recently purchased by Royal Caribbean, with Regent Seven Seas and Crystal Cruises neck and neck in third place.

PONANT is also leading the adventure sector, with last year’s winner APT just a very short distance behind.
In the popular Premium area, there is a tussle between favourites and last year’s winner Princess Cruises and Celebrity Cruise Lines.

Celebrity will be hoping the coming launch of the high-tech Edge class ships at the end of the year will translate into extra votes. Celebrity Solstice, a regular Sydney homeported vessel, is having her Edge makeover in three years.

The family and mid-range sector is now a four-way fight, with Royal Caribbean just ahead of P&O, which in turn is just ahead of Carnival Cruise Lines. Norwegian, in only its first year in this sector operating the Norwegian Jewel out of Sydney, is running a commendable fourth.

Voting continues until October 20th, with the chance to win a $500 Red Balloon experience for your comments on your favourite cruise line overall.
