Royal Caribbean appears to have revealed the 2027/28 fleet that will homeport in Australia.

Cruise bloggers Deb & Matt Chat have found that Royal Caribbean accidentally uploaded promos for the 2027/28 season to its YouTube channel. The screen grabs below suggest that Anthem of the Seas will return to Sydney, and that Voyager of the Seas will return to Brisbane.

This aligns with Cruise Passenger’s predictions from last week, which were based on future cruise ship schedules from Sydney and Brisbane.

Royal Caribbean has not officially confirmed the sailings, but it does appear that Anthem and Voyager will be the ships for the 2027/28 season.

Official announcements are expected in the week of March 16.

For the Australian market, local cruisers will see the return of one Quantum-class and one Voyager-class ship. Next season, Australia will have two Quantum-class ships โ€“ Anthem of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas.

Here’s what they’re saying.

What are cruisers saying?

Deb and Matt Chat readers have received the news with mixed reactions.

Cruiser Rebecca Donaldson wrote: “We really enjoyed our time on Voyager, sheโ€™s a beautiful ship, especially the main dining and we really loved the Ice skating, Royal theatre and loved hanging out in the tavern BUT we really were hoping for Quantum to come back.

“We have two cruises booked on Quantum next season but I think if Voyager does come back, weโ€™ll be looking at booking on Anthem for the 27/28 season.”

Rachael Lynch wrote: “I was sad when we lost Ovation – my first Royal Caribbean cruise, and Iโ€™d wanted to sail on her ever since she was new and came to Australia 10 years ago. I finally got to do so at the end of 2024, but not long enough. I so loved it. Iโ€™ll be on Anthem in April, which I canโ€™t wait for.

Quantum Class ships are amazing!! Iโ€™ll be sad to see Quantum leave, which will mean only one amazing Quantum Class ship in Australia, instead of two. Bring back Ovation!

Rachael Bennett had a positive take on Voyager: “Just got off Voyager, I went on a little worried as sheโ€™s so old, but I was pleasantly surprised- she exceeded my expectations.

“There is some rust around the exterior in balconies and the exterior of the ship that canโ€™t be accessed but all the public areas and insides of cabins were well maintained and fresh.

“Iโ€™ll happily cruise on her again. Although I was hoping to see a different ship altogether come, we keep getting the same ones over and over.”

Tricia Donnatti also gave a positive spin on Voyager: “Recently sailed on Voyager and loved the smaller ship and the elegance of the dining room. Only thing I missed was Two70 which is my favourite place to be when sailing on the larger ships.”

Others weren’t quite so positive about Voyager.

Carol Easter said: “We are currently on Voyager, time to go. Looking very tired and run down. No comparison to Quantum.”

Brad Pont added: “I wonโ€™t be sailing on Royal if Voyager returns. They need to retire the boat, itโ€™s old and still looking very tired despite the recent makeover. At a minimum Brisbane needs a Quantum class ship.”
